Estrogenic Activities of 517 Chemicals by Yeast Two-Hybrid Assay

TL;DR: A simple and rapid screening method using the yeast two-hybrid system based on the ligand-dependent interaction of nuclear hormone receptors with coactivators to test the estrogenic activity of chemicals.
Journal ArticleDOI

New Screening Methods for Chemicals with Hormonal Activities Using Interaction of Nuclear Hormone Receptor with Coactivator

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the measurement of interaction between steroid hormone receptor and coactivator serves as a useful tool for identifying chemicals that interact with steroid receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA Binding Specificity of the CCAAT/Enhancer-binding Protein Transcription Factor Family

TL;DR: With small variations, these C/EBP family members showed similar sequence preferences, and the consensus sequence was identified as RTTGCGYAAY (R = A or G, and Y = C or T), and the phosphorylation of C/ EBP by casein kinase II increased the binding activity, but did not affect the binding specificity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trialkyltin Compounds Bind Retinoid X Receptor to Alter Human Placental Endocrine Functions

TL;DR: The results suggest that activation of RXR may be a novel mechanism by which trialkyltins alter human endocrine functions through RXR-dependent signaling pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estrogenic Activities of UV Stabilizers Used in Food Contact Plastics and Benzophenone Derivatives Tested by the Yeast Two-Hybrid Assay

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the hydroxyl group in the phenol moiety were in order of 4- > 3- > 2-position, while the chloro group added at the 2 position of the 4-hydroxylated benzene ring enhanced the activity.
