Journal ArticleDOI
The prognostic value of left atrial peak reservoir strain in acute myocardial infarction is dependent on left ventricular longitudinal function and left atrial size.
Mads Ersbøll,Mads J. Andersen,Nana Valeur,Ulrik M. Mogensen,Homa Waziri,Jacob E. Møller,Christian Hassager,Peter Søgaard,Lars Køber +8 more
TL;DR: PALS provides a composite measure of left ventricular longitudinal systolic function and maximum left atrium volume before mitral valve opening, and as such contains no added information when these readily obtained measures are known.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early Echocardiographic Deformation Analysis for the Prediction of Sudden Cardiac Death and Life-Threatening Arrhythmias After Myocardial Infarction
Mads Ersbøll,Nana Valeur,Mads J. Andersen,Ulrik M. Mogensen,Michael Vinther,Jesper Hastrup Svendsen,Jacob E. Møller,Joseph Kisslo,Eric J. Velazquez,Christian Hassager,Peter Søgaard,Lars Køber +11 more
TL;DR: Both GLS and MD were significantly and independently related to SCD/VA in these patients with acute MI and, in particular, GLS improved risk stratification above and beyond existing risk factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Value of N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide Levels in Heart Failure Patients With and Without Atrial Fibrillation.
Søren Lund Kristensen,Pardeep S. Jhund,Ulrik M. Mogensen,Rasmus Rørth,William T. Abraham,Akshay S. Desai,Kenneth Dickstein,Jean L. Rouleau,Michael R. Zile,Karl Swedberg,Milton Packer,Scott D. Solomon,Lars Køber,John J.V. McMurray +13 more
TL;DR: HF and reduced ejection fraction patients with AF had higher NT-proBNP than those without AF, and above a concentration of 400 pg/mL, NT- ProBNP had similar predictive value for adverse cardiovascular outcomes, irrespective of AF status.
Journal ArticleDOI
Return to the Workforce After First Hospitalization for Heart Failure: A Danish Nationwide Cohort Study.
Rasmus Rørth,Chih Wong,Kristian Kragholm,Emil L. Fosbøl,Ulrik M. Mogensen,Morten Lamberts,Mark C. Petrie,Pardeep S. Jhund,Thomas A. Gerds,Christian Torp-Pedersen,Gunnar H Gislason,John J.V. McMurray,Lars Køber,Søren Lund Kristensen +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined return to work after first heart failure (HF) hospitalization and found that younger age, male sex, and higher level of education were predictors of returning to work.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction: comparison of patient characteristics and clinical outcomes within Asia and between Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Pooja Dewan,Pardeep S. Jhund,Li Shen,Mark C. Petrie,William T. Abraham,M. Atif Ali,Chen Huan Chen,Akshay S. Desai,Kenneth Dickstein,Jun Huang,Songsak Kiatchoosakun,Kee Sik Kim,Lars Køber,Wen Ter Lai,Yuhua Liao,Ulrik M. Mogensen,Byung Hee Oh,Milton Packer,Jean L. Rouleau,Victor Shi,Antonio S. Sibulo,Scott D. Solomon,Piyamitr Sritara,Karl Swedberg,Karl Swedberg,Hiroyuki Tsutsui,Michael R. Zile,John J.V. McMurray +27 more
TL;DR: Nearly 60% of the world's population lives in Asia but little is known about the characteristics and outcomes of Asian patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction compared to other areas of the World.
