LC-MS-based metabolomics study of marine bacterial secondary metabolite and antibiotic production in Salinispora arenicola.

TL;DR: An LC-MS-based metabolomics approach was used to characterise the variation in secondary metabolite production due to changes in the salt content of the growth media as well as across different growth periods (incubation times), and indicated that a 14 day incubation period is optimal for the maximum production of rifamycin B.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antinociceptive, cytotoxic and antibacterial activities of Cleome viscosa leaves

TL;DR: The obtained results provide a support for the use of the dried leaves of Cleome viscosa L., Cleomaceae, in traditional medicine and its further investigation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimisation of protein extraction for in-depth profiling of the cereal grain proteome.

TL;DR: LC-MS/MS and bioinformatics analysis revealed that both Tris-HCl and urea-based extraction yielded a similar suite of proteins from cereal grains with remarkable overlap, yet the peptides derived from the proteins differed, rendering these extraction buffers complementary, in particular resulting in improved protein sequence coverage.
Journal ArticleDOI

The mosaic oat genome gives insights into a uniquely healthy cereal crop

TL;DR: In this paper , a reference genome for the Avena genus of oat has been presented, which reveals the mosaic structure of the oat genome, traces large-scale genomic reorganizations in the polyploidization history of Oat, and illustrates a breeding barrier associated with the genome architecture of OAT.
