Journal ArticleDOI
5D operando tomographic diffraction imaging of a catalyst bed
Antonis Vamvakeros,Simon D. M. Jacques,M. Di Michiel,Dorota Matras,Dorota Matras,Vesna Middelkoop,I. Z. Ismagilov,E. V. Matus,V. V. Kuznetsov,Jakub Drnec,Pierre Senecal,Pierre Senecal,Andrew M. Beale,Andrew M. Beale +13 more
TL;DR: The first 5D tomographic diffraction imaging experiment of a complex Ni–Pd/CeO2–ZrO2/Al2O3 catalyst used for methane reforming is reported, able to capture the evolution of the Ni-containing species and gain a more complete insight into the multiple roles of the CeO2-ZRO2 promoters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Real time chemical imaging of a working catalytic membrane reactor during oxidative coupling of methane
Antonis Vamvakeros,Simon D. M. Jacques,Vesna Middelkoop,M. Di Michiel,C. K. Egan,I. Z. Ismagilov,Gavin Vaughan,Fausto Gallucci,M. van Sint Annaland,Paul R. Shearing,Robert J. Cernik,Andrew M. Beale +11 more
TL;DR: The results reveal the importance of the evolving solid state chemistry during catalytic reaction, particularly the chemical interaction between the catalyst and the oxygen transport membrane, in relation to the oxidative coupling of methane.
Journal ArticleDOI
3D printed Ni/Al2O3 based catalysts for CO2 methanation - a comparative and operando XRD-CT study
Vesna Middelkoop,Antonis Vamvakeros,Dieter de Wit,Dieter de Wit,Simon D. M. Jacques,Simge Danaci,Simge Danaci,Clement Jacquot,Clement Jacquot,Yoran De Vos,Yoran De Vos,Dorota Matras,Stephen W. T. Price,Andrew M. Beale,Andrew M. Beale +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Ni-alumina-based catalysts were directly 3D printed into highly adaptable monolithic/multi-channel systems and evaluated for CO2 methanation.
Journal ArticleDOI
3D printed versus spherical adsorbents for gas sweetening
Vesna Middelkoop,Kai Coenen,Jonathan Schalck,Jonathan Schalck,Martin van Sint Annaland,Fausto Gallucci +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison was made between 13X zeolite and carbon model structures and their conventional equivalents: beads for CO2 and H2S adsorption, using thermogravimetric analysis and breakthrough measurements in a packed bed reactor (PBR) system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reactive air brazing for sealing mixed ionic electronic conducting hollow fibre membranes
Hong Chen,Leijun Li,Raymond Kemps,Bart Michielsen,Marijke Jacobs,Frans Snijkers,Vesna Middelkoop +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the wettability and joining of representative ceramic-to-ceramic and ceramic to-metal components by reactive air brazing (RAB) using Ag-Cu alloys.
