This book by a teacher of statistics (as well as a consultant for \"experimenters\") is a comprehensive study of the philosophical background for the statistical design of experiment. It is necessary to have some facility with algebraic notation and manipulation to be able to use the volume intelligently. The problems are presented from the theoretical point of view, without such practical examples as would be helpful for those not acquainted with mathematics. The mathematical justification for the techniques is given. As a somewhat advanced treatment of the design and analysis of experiments, this volume will be interesting and helpful for many who approach statistics theoretically as well as practically. With emphasis on the \"why,\" and with description given broadly, the author relates the subject matter to the general theory of statistics and to the general problem of experimental inference. The Design and Analysis of Experiments

Ten years ago, we presented the DeLone and McLean Information Systems (IS) Success Model as a framework and model for measuring the complex-dependent variable in IS research. In this paper, we discuss many of the important IS success research contributions of the last decade, focusing especially on research efforts that apply, validate, challenge, and propose enhancements to our original model. Based on our evaluation of those contributions, we propose minor refinements to the model and propose an updated DeLone and McLean IS Success Model. We discuss the utility of the updated model for measuring e-commerce system success. Finally, we make a series of recommendations regarding current and future measurement of IS success.

Data Mining - Concepts and Techniques.

According to W. Edwards Deming, American companies require nothing less than a transformation of management style and of governmental relations with industry. In Out of the Crisis, originally published in 1982, Deming offers a theory of management based on his famous 14 Points for Management. Management's failure to plan for the future, he claims, brings about loss of market, which brings about loss of jobs. Management must be judged not only by the quarterly dividend, but by innovative plans to stay in business, protect investment, ensure future dividends, and provide more jobs through improved product and service. In simple, direct language, he explains the principles of management transformation and how to apply them.

Data Mining Practical Machine Learning Tools and Techniques

The application of data science resources can enhance our ability to reduce health disparities affecting communities across the country. In this paper, we use the Preferred Reporting Items for Structured Review and Meta-Analyses methodology to conduct a thematic analysis of selected studies and identify micro and macro themes within the literature. The authors of this analysis reviewed articles that included data science software applications and their role in focusing efforts to address health disparities affecting the health of citizens in specific communities across the country. Abstracts were reviewed for research relevance after duplicates were removed, and documents were eliminated from consideration during the screening based on the exclusion criteria. At the conclusion of the structured literature review, the results emphasized the strong utility of geographically directed assessment. This highlights the need for the integration of geoand statistical methodologies in the use of data science software for healthcare applications, which can be a useful means to identify locations where health disparities are present and can focus efforts to resolve these health disparities. Nurses, physicians, and health educators can be dispatched to the geographical areas where health disparities are most prevalent.

A Preferred Reporting Items for Structured Review and Meta-Analyses Structured Review

This paper describes a two-semester course that constitutes a case study of how to develop an undergraduate course on research methods within the context of a business administration program in a medium sized city in Mexico. Students were organised into 19 teams of up to three students, and were asked to develop an industry analysis of an economic sector of the city, as a precursor to expanding an existing business or creating a new one. This was a prototype experience, and because of its success, this research project approach was proposed as a standard activity within a competency-based entrepreneurship curriculum.

Using undergraduate student research as a pedagogical tool in a predominately undergraduate institution in Mexico

Abstract Customer engagement is one of the significant operational and quality practices service providers use to build service experiential relationships with customers. The purpose of this paper is to examine the moderating role emotional connection and customer orientation play in customer relationship building. A quantitative survey method is carried out among 515 self-reported active members at a single fast-growing non-denominational faith-based organization in Southwestern United States. Using a hierarchical multiple regression to evaluate our research model, we find relationship satisfaction is positively associated with customers’ behavioral intention in doing business with a service firm, while emotional connection shows no moderating effect on such a relationship. However, we found a significant three-way interaction effect of relationship satisfaction, emotional connection, and customer orientation on behavioral intentions. Customer orientation strengthens and fortifies the relationship between satisfaction and behavioral intentions for customers with high emotional connection than for customers with low emotional connection. The focus on customer orientation and emotional connection provides a framework that can assist service firms develop quality operational strategies that target the emotions and feelings of customers to value the relationship while supporting service employees with quality operational practices and customer orientated activities to better manage customers.
