Medial malleolar osteotomy for the treatment of talar osteochondral lesions: anatomical and morbidity considerations
André Leumann,André Leumann,Monika Horisberger,Olaf Buettner,Magdalena Mueller-Gerbl,Victor Valderrabano +5 more
TL;DR: Anatomically, there is an optimal location for the medial malleolar osteotomy at the medial ankle edge involving minimal cartilage damage, and clinical results showed no short- or mid- term morbidity and little long-term morbidity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of screw type on obtained contact area and contact force in a cadaveric subtalar arthrodesis model.
TL;DR: The obtained results have shown that the design of the screw influences the achieved compression force, and the superior compression of the I.CO.S.-screw might be explained by the better gripping and additional compression mechanism of its head.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recurrence and prevention of diabetic foot ulcers after total contact casting.
Arno Frigg,Geert Pagenstert,Dirk Schäfer,Victor Valderrabano,Victor Valderrabano,Beat Hintermann +5 more
TL;DR: The high recurrence rate in the presence of optimal instruction, shoes, and followup suggests that these measures are not sufficient, and it is suggested that foot deformities should be operatively corrected immediately after primary healing rather than waiting until further recurrences occur.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meta-analysis on biomechanical properties of meniscus repairs: are devices better than sutures?
Daniel M. Buckland,Daniel M. Buckland,Patrick Sadoghi,Matthias D. Wimmer,Matthias D. Wimmer,Patrick Vavken,Geert Pagenstert,Geert Pagenstert,Victor Valderrabano,Victor Valderrabano,Claudio Rosso,Claudio Rosso +11 more
TL;DR: Suture repair remains the gold standard with a vertically oriented suture configuration showing superior LtF values compared to a horizontal configuration and some meniscal repair devices have similar biomechanical properties to suture repairs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness of bracing in the treatment of nonosseous restriction of elbow mobility: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 13 studies
Andreas M. Müller,Patrick Sadoghi,Robert Lucas,Laurent Audigé,Ruth A. Delaney,Maria Klein,Victor Valderrabano,Patrick Vavken,Patrick Vavken,Patrick Vavken +9 more
TL;DR: The current evidence strongly supports the use of static-progressive stretching 3 times 30 minutes per day in each direction as a first line of treatment in patients with post-traumatic and postsurgical elbow stiffness.
