Atomic reconstruction in twisted bilayers of transition metal dichalcogenides

TL;DR: Atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy is used to reveal the lattice reconstruction in twisted bilayers of the transition metal dichalcogenides, MoS 2 and WS 2, showing that such reconstruction creates strong piezoelectric textures, opening a new avenue for engineering of 2D material properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stacking domains and dislocation networks in marginally twisted bilayers of transition metal dichalcogenides

TL;DR: In this article, a multiscale modeling approach was applied to study lattice reconstruction in marginally twisted bilayers of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD), and the authors developed density functional theory parametrized interpolation formulae for interlayer adhesion energies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resonance Raman spectroscopy of graphite and graphene

TL;DR: In this paper, the key aspects of Raman spectroscopy of graphite and graphene are reviewed, focusing on the double resonant Raman modes such as the D, D* (also known as G' or 2D), and D' bands.
