Journal ArticleDOI
The Junction-associated Protein AF-6 Interacts and Clusters with Specific Eph Receptor Tyrosine Kinases at Specialized Sites of Cell–Cell Contact in the Brain
Michael Buchert,Stefan Schneider,Virginia Meskenaite,Mark Raymond Adams,Eli Canaani,Thomas Baechi,Karin Moelling,Christopher M. Hovens +7 more
TL;DR: AF-6 is a candidate for mediating the clustering of Eph receptors at postsynaptic specializations in the adult rat brain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Truncating Neurotrypsin Mutation in Autosomal Recessive Nonsyndromic Mental Retardation
Florence Molinari,Marlène Rio,Virginia Meskenaite,Férechté Encha-Razavi,Joelle Augé,Delphine Bacq,Sylvain Briault,Michel Vekemans,Arnold Munnich,Tania Attié-Bitach,Peter Sonderegger,Laurence Colleaux +11 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that neurotrypsin-mediated proteolysis is required for normal synaptic function and suggest potential insights into the pathophysiological bases of mental retardation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ryk-deficient mice exhibit craniofacial defects associated with perturbed Eph receptor crosstalk
Michael M. Halford,Michael M. Halford,Michael M. Halford,Jane E. Armes,Michael Buchert,Virginia Meskenaite,Dianne Grail,Dianne Grail,Margaret L. Hibbs,Margaret L. Hibbs,Andrew F. Wilks,Andrew F. Wilks,Peter G. Farlie,Donald F. Newgreen,Christopher M. Hovens,Steven A. Stacker,Steven A. Stacker,Steven A. Stacker +17 more
TL;DR: Ryk-deficient mice exhibit craniofacial defects associated with perturbed Eph receptor crosstalk as mentioned in this paper, which may be attributed to perturbation of Eph receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calretinin-immunoreactive local circuit neurons in area 17 of the cynomolgus monkey, Macaca fascicularis.
TL;DR: The connections of local circuit neurons immunoreactive for calcium‐binding protein calretinin (CR‐ir) were studied in area 17 of the macaque monkey visual cortex and found that deep layers of these cells provided a basket‐type innervation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calsyntenin-1 Docks Vesicular Cargo to Kinesin-1
Anetta Konecna,Renato Frischknecht,Jochen Kinter,Alexander Ludwig,Martin Steuble,Virginia Meskenaite,Martin Indermühle,Marianne Engel,Chuan Cen,Jose-Maria Mateos,Peter Streit,Peter Sonderegger +11 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that calsyntenin-1 links a certain type of vesicular and tubulovesicular organelles to the KinesIn-1 motor.
