High-bandwidth temperature-stable 1.55-μm quantum dot lasers

TL;DR: In this article, an overview is given about the recent improvement in 1.55 μm QD lasers for direct modulation, which reduces the inhomogeneous size distribution, and record values in small signal modulation bandwidth of more than 15 GHz and in digital modulation of up to 35 GBit/s.

Effect of elastic stresses on the thermoelectric properties of Pb 1−x Ge x Te epitaxial layers

TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature dependence of the thermopower of Pb1−x epitaxial films grown on BaF2(111) substrates was measured, and the temperature of the ferroelectric phase transition was found to disagree with that obtained for bulk single crystals of the same composition.
