Journal ArticleDOI
Preliminary antitumor activity of BAY 43–9006 in metastatic renal cell carcinoma and other advanced refractory solid tumors in a phase II randomized discontinuation trial (RDT)
Mark J. Ratain,Keith T. Flaherty,Walter M. Stadler,Peter O'Dwyer,Stan B. Kaye,Henry Q. Xiong,Amita Patnaik,M. E. Gore,Richard J. Lee,Tim Eisen +9 more
TL;DR: BAY has activity (as measured by disease regressions) in multiple tumor types, particularly RCC, and is well tolerated in pts with advanced cancers, in particular in patients with RCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does androgen-deprivation therapy accelerate the development of frailty in older men with prostate cancer?: a conceptual review.
TL;DR: Evidence indicates that ADT may accelerate the development of frailty in vulnerable older men with prostate cancer, and this potential consequence of ADT should be considered carefully when initiating therapy in older patients with recurrent prostate cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimating the arterial input function using two reference tissues in dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI studies: fundamental concepts and simulations.
TL;DR: Simulation studies show that despite the two error sources, the double‐reference‐tissue method provides reliable estimates of the AIF.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prospective International Randomized Phase II Study of Low-Dose Abiraterone With Food Versus Standard Dose Abiraterone In Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer
Russell Z. Szmulewitz,Cody J. Peer,Abiola Ibraheem,Elia Martinez,Mark Kozloff,Bradley C. Carthon,R. Donald Harvey,Paul A. S. Fishkin,Wei Peng Yong,Edmund Chiong,Chadi Nabhan,Theodore Karrison,William D. Figg,Walter M. Stadler,Mark J. Ratain +14 more
TL;DR: Low-dose AA (with low-fat breakfast) is noninferior to standard dosing with respect to PSA metrics, and these data warrant consideration by prescribers, payers, and patients.
Journal Article
Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 4 metastasis suppressor gene expression is inversely related to histological pattern in advancing human prostatic cancers.
Hyung L. Kim,Donald J. Vander Griend,Ximing J. Yang,David A. Benson,Zita Dubauskas,Barbara A. Yoshida,Marina Chekmareva,Yayoi Ichikawa,Mitchell H. Sokoloff,Ping Zhan,Theodore Karrison,Anning Lin,Walter M. Stadler,Tomo Ichikawa,Mark A. Rubin,Carrie W. Rinker-Schaeffer +15 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that MKK4 protein is consistently down-regulated during prostate cancer progression and support a role for dysregulation of its signaling cascade in clinical disease.
