Smokeless tobacco use in Australia.

TL;DR: Permitting low nitrosamine varieties of SLT to be sold in Australia might reduce harm in current SLT users and provide a viable alternative to cigarettes for some current smokers.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of substrate bonding on characterization of thin elastic layers: A finite element study

TL;DR: In this article, a modified scale factor for the analytical solution was proposed to evaluate the relationship between the elastic modulus and the force-indentation data, and the numerical results revealed that the 2D formulation produces closer values to those of the 3D simulations at higher aspect ratios, and two extreme values for the scale factor were proposed to consider the effects of the substrate.
Book ChapterDOI

Cannabis abuse and dependence

TL;DR: For example, this paper found that the risk factors for problem cannabis use among adolescents include: initiating use at an early age; exposure to multiple social and family disadvantages; families with problems and a history of parental substance use; impulsivity and poor school performance; and affiliation with peers with a history with poor school performances, family disadvantage, and cannabis and other drug use.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alcohol advertisers may be using social media to encourage parents to drink during COVID-19.

TL;DR: Australia's social distancing policies to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronav virus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), have had social consequences.
