Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a novel multiplex PCR assay for the identification of Salmonella enterica Typhimurium and Enteritidis

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the comparative genomic method is a valuable tool for identifying new specific targets, a necessary step for developing rapid and accurate detection methods for foodborne pathogens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diversity of Salmonella isolates using serotyping and multilocus sequence typing.

TL;DR: It was concluded from the results that MLST was generally associated with serotype, but not associated with the epidemiological source of the samples, and antimicrobial resistance patterns, and that hisD revealed the highest levels of nucleotide diversity.
Journal ArticleDOI

PCR identification of Salmonella serogroups based on specific targets obtained by comparative genomics.

TL;DR: Comparative genomic approaches provide abundant information to reveal the diversity among Salmonella serogroups and imply that these genes, which are associated with sugar synthesis and metabolism or glycosyl and O-actetyl transfer, impart the differences among them.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phenotypic, proteomic, and genomic characterization of a putative ABC-transporter permease involved in Listeria monocytogenes biofilm formation.

TL;DR: The transcriptomics study indicated that lm.G_1771 could play a vital role in regulating candidate genes involved in biofilm formation such as genes encoding cell surface proteins (Dlt), cell surface anchor proteins (SrtA), and transcriptional regulators (GntR) contributing to negative regulation ofBiofilm formation by L. monocytogenes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serotype, genotype, and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of Salmonella from chicken farms in Shanghai.

TL;DR: Five hundred fifty samples were collected from five chicken farms in Shanghai during March 2005 to October 2006, and twenty-five samples tested positive for Salmonella, which revealed that some of these strains, isolated from different farms, might have the same ST and might come from the same source.
