Dust in High-Velocity Clouds : relevance for Planck

TL;DR: The recent detection of dust emission in Complex C, the largest High-Velocity Cloud (HVC) on the sky, opens a very interesting perspective for Planck as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

The First Mid-Infrared Spectra of Cool White Dwarfs

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the first mid-infrared spectra of two cool white dwarfs obtained with the Spitzer Space Telescope, and performed a detailed model atmosphere analysis of these two stars by fitting their UBVRIJHK and Spitzer photometry with state-of-the-art model atmospheres, and demonstrate that the optical and infrared spectral energy distributions of these stars are well reproduced by their grid of models.

Probing Star Formation in Interacting Galaxies Using UV and Mid-IR: The Case of Arp 82

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of galaxy interactions on star formation were analyzed using Spitzer infrared and GALEX ultraviolet images of the interacting galaxy pair Arp 82 (NGC 2535/6), and compared to a numerical simulation of the interaction.
