Shocked Molecular Gas in the Supernova Remnants W28 and W44: Near-Infrared and Millimeter-Wave Observations
TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution millimeter-wave (CO, CS, and HCO+ rotational lines) and near-infrared (H2 2.12 μm rovibrational and Fe II fine-structure lines) observations of the supernova remnants W28 and W44 reveal extensive shocked molecular gas, where supernova blast waves are propagating into giant molecular clouds.
Journal ArticleDOI
The New Class of Dusty DAZ White Dwarfs
Ted von Hippel,Ted von Hippel,Marc J. Kuchner,Mukremin Kilic,Fergal Mullally,William T. Reach +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a mid-infrared survey of 124 white dwarfs with the Spitzer Space Telescope and the IRAC imager has revealed an infrared excess associated with the white dwarf WD 2115-560 naturally explained by circumstellar dust.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermal properties, sizes, and size distribution of Jupiter-family cometary nuclei
Yanga R. Fernandez,Michael S. P. Kelley,Philippe Lamy,Imre Toth,Imre Toth,Olivier Groussin,Carey M. Lisse,Michael F. A'Hearn,James M. Bauer,Humberto Campins,Alan Fitzsimmons,Javier Licandro,Stephen C. Lowry,Karen J. Meech,J. Pittichová,William T. Reach,Colin Snodgrass,Harold A. Weaver +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results from SEPPCoN, an on-going survey of the Ensemble Physical Properties of Cometary Nuclei, which provides the largest compilation of radiometrically-derived physical properties of nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Three-dimensional Structure of Cassiopeia A
Tracey DeLaney,Lawrence Rudnick,M. D. Stage,J. D. T. Smith,Karl Isensee,Jeonghee Rho,Glenn E. Allen,Haley Louise Gomez,Takashi Kozasa,William T. Reach,John E. Davis,J. C. Houck +11 more
TL;DR: The authors used the Spitzer Space Telescope's Infrared Spectrograph to map nearly the entire extent of Casiopeia A between 5 and 40 μm, using infrared and Chandra X-ray Doppler velocity measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
