Spitzer Observations of the Dust Coma and Nucleus of 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 1
John Stansberry,J. van Cleve,William T. Reach,Dale P. Cruikshank,Josh Emery,Josh Emery,Yanga R. Fernandez,Victoria S. Meadows,Kate Y. L. Su,Karl Misselt,George H. Rieke,Erick T. Young,Michael W. Werner,Charles W. Engelbracht,Karl D. Gordon,Dean C. Hines,D. M. Kelly,Jane E. Morrison,James Muzerolle +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors obtained thermal images and spectra of 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 1 in late 2003 November and revealed an extensive coma with an estimated dust production rate of 50 kg s-1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-Infrared Imaging and [O I] Spectroscopy of IC 443 using Two Micron All Sky Survey and Infrared Space Observatory
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented near-infrared J (1.25 mum), H ( 1.65 mum), and K-s (2.17 mum) imaging of the entire supernova remnant IC 443 from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS), and Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) LWS observations of [O I] for 11 positions in the northeast.
Journal ArticleDOI
Herschel Inventory of The Agents of Galaxy Evolution (HERITAGE): the Large Magellanic Cloud dust
Margaret Meixner,Margaret Meixner,Frédéric Galliano,Sacha Hony,Julia Roman-Duval,Thomas P. Robitaille,Pasquale Panuzzo,Marc Sauvage,Karl D. Gordon,Chad Engelbracht,Karl Misselt,Koryo Okumura,Tracy L. Skibba,Linda J. Smith,Sundar Srinivasan,Alexander G. G. M. Tielens,J. Th. van Loon,Barbara A. Whitney,Paul M. Woods +56 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented two dust models that both adequately fit the spectral energy distribution for the entire strip and both reveal that the SPIRE 500 µm emission is in excess of the models by 6 to 17%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Powerful H$_2$ Line-cooling in Stephan's Quintet : I - Mapping the Significant Cooling Pathways in Group-wide Shocks
M. E. Cluver,P. N. Appleton,F. Boulanger,Pierre Guillard,P. M. Ogle,Pierre-Alain Duc,N. Y. Lu,John Rasmussen,William T. Reach,J. D. T. Smith,R. J. Tuffs,C. K. Xu,M. S. Yun +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results from the mid-infrared spectral mapping of Stephan's Quintet using the Spitzer Space Telescope and reveal the large-scale distribution of warm molecular hydrogen emission.
Journal ArticleDOI
Infrared Excess and Molecular Clouds: A comparison of new suerveys of far-infrared and H I 21-cm emission at high galactic latitudes
TL;DR: In this paper, a map of the large-scale infrared surface brightness in excess of that associated with the atomic interstellar medium was created using region-byregion correlations between the far-infrared and 21-cm line surface brightness.
