PERIOD2::LUCIFERASE real-time reporting of circadian dynamics reveals persistent circadian oscillations in mouse peripheral tissues
Seung Hee Yoo,Shin Yamazaki,Shin Yamazaki,Phillip L. Lowrey,Kazuhiro Shimomura,Caroline H. Ko,Caroline H. Ko,Ethan D. Buhr,Sandra M. Siepka,Hee Kyung Hong,Won Jun Oh,Ook Joon Yoo,Michael Menaker,Joseph S. Takahashi +13 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that peripheral tissues express self-sustained, rather than damped, circadian oscillations and the existence of organ-specific synchronizers of circadian rhythms at the cell and tissue level is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cloning and characterization of the promoter region of the Wilson disease gene.
TL;DR: Interestingly, the 5'-flanking region of the WD gene contained four metal response elements (MREs) and six MRE-like sequences (MLSs), usually found in the metallothionein genes, but lacked TATA box.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nuclear proteins that bind to metal response element a (MREa) in the Wilson disease gene promoter are Ku autoantigens and the Ku-80 subunit is necessary for basal transcription of the WD gene.
TL;DR: The results of RNA interference assays suggest that the Ku-80 subunit is required for constitutive expression of the WD gene.

Mammary gland tissue-specific expression system using β-casein promoter site of Korean native goat
Ook Joon Yoo,Kyung Kwang Lee,Han Young Mahn,Sun Jung Kim,Hae Young Jeong,Jung Ho Ko,Won Jun Oh +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, mammary gland tissue-specific expression systems using the promoter site for the β-casein gene of Korean native goats, by use of which physiological activating substances can be produced.
