ATP-sensitive potassium channels: A double-edged sword in neurodegenerative diseases

TL;DR: The role of KATP channels and their related openers and inhibitors in neurodegenerative diseases was discussed in this paper . But, their role was not discussed in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ghrelin Bridges DMV Neuropathology and GI Dysfunction in the Early Stages of Parkinson's Disease

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the reduction in plasma ghrelin levels in the early stages of PD may be the result of the lesion of cholinergic neurons in the DMV, thus linking neurodegeneration and GI dysfunction in PD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural characterization of a nonhydrolyzing UDP-GlcNAc 2-epimerase from Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A.

TL;DR: Two crystal structures of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine 2-epimerase from Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A are presented, providing additional insight into the mechanism and regulation of this critical enzyme and improving the structural understanding of the ability of NmSacA to epimerize modified substrates.
