Mechanical properties of boron arsenide single crystal

TL;DR: In this article, the mechanical properties of cubic boron arsenide (BAs) single crystals are studied by experimental measurements combined with first-principles calculations, and the bulk and Young's moduli are measured to be 142 and 388 GPa, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Superconductivity of novel tin hydrides (Sn(n)H(m)) under pressure.

TL;DR: The intermediate-frequency wagging and bending vibrations have more contribution to electron-phonon coupling parameter than high-frequency stretching vibrations of H2 and H3 and all the new tin hydrides remain metallic over their predicted range of stability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous strengthening in nanotwinned diamond

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the strength of nanograined cubic boron nitride (cBN) and diamond using molecular dynamics and first-principles calculations, and found that the competition between shuffle-set dislocation (SSD) and grain boundary atom motions gives rise to RHPE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal structure and stability of magnesium borohydride from first principles

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a structure model for constructing stable ground-state crystal structures of a group of homologous materials, such as Mg, BH, and BH-4.
