Characterization of the lipoxygenase (LOX) gene family in the Chinese white pear ( Pyrus bretschneideri ) and comparison with other members of the Rosaceae

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified 107 LOX homologous genes from five Rosaceous species (Pyrus bretschneideri, Malus × domestica, Fragaria vesca, Prunus mume, and Prinus persica); 23 of these sequences were from pear.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gene-expression profile of developing pollen tube of Pyrus bretschneideri.

TL;DR: RNA-Seq technology was used to characterize the expression of genes during four development stages of pear pollen, and it is observed that 2208 genes were differentially expressed between PT and SPT, the first report of the gene expression comparison between the two development stages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide identification and comparative analysis of the cation proton antiporters family in pear and four other Rosaceae species

TL;DR: The transcript analysis of some CPA genes under abiotic stress conditions revealed that CPAs may play an important role in pollen tubes growth and will be useful in improving understanding of the complexity of the CPA gene family.
Journal ArticleDOI

TARE1, a Mutated Copia-Like LTR Retrotransposon Followed by Recent Massive Amplification in Tomato

TL;DR: A model wherein a single mutation from ‘G’ to ‘A’ in 3′ LTR followed by amplification is responsible for the origin of TARE1 is proposed, providing evidence that the proliferation of a spontaneous mutation can be mediated by the amplification of LTR-RTs at the level of RNA.
