The high-acceptance dielectron spectrometer HADES

G. Agakichiev, +217 more
TL;DR: HADES as discussed by the authors is a versatile magnetic spectrometer aimed at studying dielectron production in pion, proton and heavy-ion-induced collisions, which includes a ring imaging gas Cherenkov detector for electron-hadron discrimination, a tracking system consisting of a set of 6 superconducting coils producing a toroidal field and drift chambers, and a multiplicity and electron trigger array for additional electron hadron discrimination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Searching a dark photon with HADES

G. Agakishiev, +100 more
- 04 Apr 2014 -
TL;DR: In this paper, an upper bound on the branching ratio of the helicity-suppressed direct decay of the η meson η → e + e − was obtained for the mass range M(U)= 0.02 - 0.55 GeV/c 2 and is compared with the present world data set.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of dielectron production in C+C collisions at 1-A-GeV

G. Agakishiev, +125 more
- 15 May 2008 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the emission of e+ e- pairs from C + C collisions at an incident energy of 1 GeV per nucleon has been investigated, and measured production probabilities, spanning from the π0-Dalitz to the ρ / ω invariant mass region, display a strong excess above the cocktail of standard hadronic sources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Origin of the low-mass electron pair excess in light nucleus-nucleus collisions

G. Agakichiev, +99 more
- 14 Jun 2010 -
TL;DR: In this article, the electron pairs were reconstructed for n + p reactions by detecting the proton spectator from the deuteron breakup with the HADES spectrometer, and the yield of electron pairs with invariant mass M e + e − > 0.15 GeV / c 2 was found to be an order of magnitude larger in N + P reactions as compared to N + p.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hyperon production in Ar + KCl collisions at 1.76A GeV

G. Agakishiev, +112 more
TL;DR: In this paper, transverse momentum spectra, rapidity distribution and multiplicity of Hyperons measured with the HADES spectrometer in the reaction Ar(1.76AGeV) + KCl were presented.
