The high-acceptance dielectron spectrometer HADES

G. Agakichiev, +217 more
TL;DR: HADES as discussed by the authors is a versatile magnetic spectrometer aimed at studying dielectron production in pion, proton and heavy-ion-induced collisions, which includes a ring imaging gas Cherenkov detector for electron-hadron discrimination, a tracking system consisting of a set of 6 superconducting coils producing a toroidal field and drift chambers, and a multiplicity and electron trigger array for additional electron hadron discrimination.
Journal ArticleDOI

The High-Acceptance Dielectron Spectrometer HADES

TL;DR: HADES as discussed by the authors is a versatile magnetic spectrometer aimed at studying dielectron production in pion, proton and heavy-ion induced collisions, which includes a ring imaging gas Cherenkov detector for electron-hadron discrimination, a tracking system consisting of a set of 6 superconducting coils producing a toroidal field and drift chambers and a multiplicity and electron trigger array for additional electron hadron discrimination and event characterization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conformational investigation of N-aralkylpyridinium ions by Cotton-Mouten effect method

TL;DR: In this article, the same authors reported the molar Cotton-Mouton constants and refractions for N -aralkylpyridinium cations as solutes in water or acetonitrile.
Journal ArticleDOI

The NUMEN project: NUclear Matrix Elements for Neutrinoless double beta decay

Francesco Cappuzzello, +90 more
TL;DR: The NUMEN project as mentioned in this paper proposes an innovative technique to access the nuclear matrix elements entering the expression of the lifetime of the double beta decay by cross section measurements of heavy-ion induced Double Charge Exchange (DCE) reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Searching a dark photon with HADES

G. Agakishiev, +100 more
- 04 Apr 2014 -
TL;DR: In this paper, an upper bound on the branching ratio of the helicity-suppressed direct decay of the η meson η → e + e − was obtained for the mass range M(U)= 0.02 - 0.55 GeV/c 2 and is compared with the present world data set.
