Journal ArticleDOI
Melanogenesis inhibitory activity of a 7-O-9′-linked neolignan from Alpinia galanga fruit
Yoshiaki Manse,Kiyofumi Ninomiya,Ryosuke Nishi,Iyori Kamei,Yushi Katsuyama,Takahito Imagawa,Saowanee Chaipech,Osamu Muraoka,Toshio Morikawa +8 more
TL;DR: An aqueous acetone extract from the fruit of Alpinia galanga demonstrated inhibitory effects on melanogenesis in theophylline-stimulated murine B16 melanoma 4A5 cells, and the active compounds 1-3 inhibited tyrosinase, tyrosine-related protein (TRP)-1, and TRP-2 mRNA expressions could be the mechanism of melanogenesis inhibitory activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acetoxybenzhydrols as highly active and stable analogues of 1'S-1'-acetoxychavicol, a potent antiallergic principal from Alpinia galanga.
Tomohisa Yasuhara,Yoshiaki Manse,Takayuki Morimoto,Wang Qilong,Hisashi Matsuda,Masayuki Yoshikawa,Osamu Muraoka +6 more
TL;DR: More stable and potent analogue, 4-(methoxycarbonyloxyphenylmethyl)phenyl acetate (16), has been developed and strongly inhibited the antigen-IgE-mediated TNF-alpha and IL-4 production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Labdane-Type Diterpenes, Galangalditerpenes A-C, with Melanogenesis Inhibitory Activity from the Fruit of Alpinia galanga.
Yoshiaki Manse,Kiyofumi Ninomiya,Ryosuke Nishi,Yoshinori Hashimoto,Saowanee Chaipech,Saowanee Chaipech,Osamu Muraoka,Toshio Morikawa +7 more
TL;DR: The melanogenesis inhibitory activities in theophylline-stimulated murine B16 melanoma 4A5 cells of these isolates, including the new diterpenes, were found to be more than 6–87-fold higher than that of arbutin, a commercially available positive control.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geranylated Coumarins From Thai Medicinal Plant Mammea siamensis With Testosterone 5α-Reductase Inhibitory Activity.
Toshio Morikawa,Fenglin Luo,Yoshiaki Manse,Hidemi Sugita,Shunsuke Saeki,Saowanee Chaipech,Saowanee Chaipech,Yutana Pongpiriyadacha,Osamu Muraoka,Kiyofumi Ninomiya +9 more
TL;DR: Geranylated coumarin constituents, kayeassamin I and mammeasins E and F, were newly isolated from the methanol extract of the flowers of Mammea siamensis and were found to inhibit testosterone 5α-reductase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acylated iridoid glycosides with hyaluronidase inhibitory activity from the rhizomes of Picrorhiza kurroa Royle ex Benth.
Toshio Morikawa,Yusuke Nakanishi,Naoki Inoue,Yoshiaki Manse,Hideyuki Matsuura,Shinya Hamasaki,Masayuki Yoshikawa,Osamu Muraoka,Kiyofumi Ninomiya +8 more
TL;DR: Seven new acylated iridoid glycosides, picrorhizaosides A-G (1-7), were isolated from the methanol extract of the rhizomes of Picrorhiza kurroa Royle ex Benth.
