Journal ArticleDOI

Physiological flow simulation in residual human stenoses after coronary angioplasty.

TL;DR: To evaluate the local hemodynamic implications of coronary artery balloon angioplasty, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was applied in a group of patients previously reported by Wilson et al. with representative stenosis geometry with results indicated that the pulsatile flow field was principally quasi-steady during the cardiac cycle.

Single riser/single capillary viscometer using mass detection or column height detection

TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for determining the viscosity of a fluid over plural shear rates caused by a decreasing pressure differential by monitoring the movement of the fluid through a riser tube and a capillary tube is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cardiovascular benefits of phlebotomy: relationship to changes in hemorheological variables

TL;DR: All available data on the benefits of therapeutic phlebotomy point to the importance of monitoring WBV as part of a cardiovascular risk factor, along with other risk-modifying measures, whenever an increased cardiovascular risk is detected.
Book ChapterDOI

Physical water treatment for fouling prevention in heat exchangers

TL;DR: Physical water treatment (PWT) is an attempt to treat hard water for the purpose of preventing or mitigating fouling using a physical means, without adding chemicals to water as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improvement of heat transfer with perforated circular holes in finned tubes of air-cooled heat exchanger

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of perforated circular finned-tube (PCFT) on the convective heat transfer performance of circular Finned-Tube heat exchangers.
