Carbamazepine-Induced Toxic Effects and HLA-B*1502 Screening in Taiwan
Pei Chen,Juei-Jueng Lin,Chin-Song Lu,Chin-Song Lu,Cheung-Ter Ong,Peiyuan F. Hsieh,Chih-Chao Yang,Chih-Ta Tai,Shey-Lin Wu,Cheng-Hsien Lu,Yung-Chu Hsu,Hsiang-Yu Yu,Hsiang-Yu Yu,Long-Sun Ro,Long-Sun Ro,Chung-Ta Lu,Chung-Ta Lu,Chun-Che Chu,Chun-Che Chu,Jing-Jane Tsai,Yu-Hsiang Su,Sheng-Hsing Lan,Sheng-Feng Sung,Shu-Yi Lin,Hui-Ping Chuang,Li-Chen Huang,Ying Ju Chen,Pei-Joung Tsai,Hung-Ting Liao,Yu-Hsuan Lin,Chien-Hsiun Chen,Wen-Hung Chung,Wen-Hung Chung,Shuen-Iu Hung,Jer-Yuarn Wu,Chi-Feng Chang,Luke I Chen,Yuan-Tsong Chen,Yuan-Tsong Chen,Chen-Yang Shen,Chen-Yang Shen +40 more
TL;DR: The identification of subjects carrying the HLA-B*1502 allele and the avoidance of carbamazepine therapy in these subjects was strongly associated with a decrease in the incidence of carbazepine-induced SJS-TEN.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sex-related differences in the risk factors for in-hospital mortality and outcomes of ischemic stroke patients in rural areas of Taiwan.
Cheung-Ter Ong,Yi-Sin Wong,Sheng-Feng Sung,Chi-Shun Wu,Yung-Chu Hsu,Yu-Hsiang Su,Ling-Chien Hung +6 more
TL;DR: Functional outcomes at discharge and six months after stroke were poorer in women than in men, and atrial fibrillation, diabetes mellitus, stroke history, and old age were factors contributing to poor outcomes in men and women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome of stroke patients receiving different doses of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator
TL;DR: Whether 0.7 and 0.8 mg/kg of tPA have higher ENI rate, lower END rate, and better outcome at 6 months, and whether low-dose tPA has a lower risk of intracerebral HT than that with standard- dose tPA is investigated.
Increased use of thrombolytic therapy and shortening of in-hospital delays following acute ischemic stroke: experience on the establishment of a primary stroke center at a community hospital.
TL;DR: The establishment of the PSC significantly increases the usage of tPA treatment and response time to patient cases was also quicker, however, the public still needs to be made more aware of the risks of stroke and the importance of seeking medical care at the first signs of stroke.
Intravenous thrombolytic therapy for acute ischemic stroke: the experience of a community hospital.
TL;DR: Although the number of patients with AIS receiving tPA in this study was small, thrombolytic therapy can be performed safely and effectively by physicians in the community hospital setting.
