Journal ArticleDOI
Radiotherapy plus chemotherapy with or without surgical resection for stage III non-small-cell lung cancer: a phase III randomised controlled trial
Kathy S. Albain,R. Suzanne Swann,Valerie W. Rusch,Andrew T. Turrisi,Frances A. Shepherd,Colum Smith,Yuhchyau Chen,Robert B. Livingston,Richard H. Feins,David R. Gandara,Willard A Fry,Gail Darling,David H. Johnson,Mark R. Green,Robert C. Miller,Joanne Ley,Willliam T Sause,James D. Cox +17 more
TL;DR: The primary endpoint was overall survival (OS) and an exploratory analysis, OS was improved for patients who underwent lobectomy, but not pneumonectomy, versus chemotherapy plus radiotherapy, compared with standard concurrent chemotherapy and definitive radiotherapy without resection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomized Phase III Noninferiority Study Comparing Two Radiotherapy Fractionation Schedules in Patients With Low-Risk Prostate Cancer
W. Robert Lee,James J. Dignam,Mahul B. Amin,Deborah Watkins Bruner,Daniel A. Low,Gregory P. Swanson,Amit Shah,David D'Souza,Jeff M. Michalski,Ian S. Dayes,Samantha A. Seaward,William A. Hall,Paul L. Nguyen,Thomas M. Pisansky,Sergio Faria,Yuhchyau Chen,Bridget F. Koontz,Rebecca Paulus,Howard M. Sandler +18 more
TL;DR: In men with low-risk prostate cancer, the efficacy of 70 Gy in 28 fractions over 5.6 weeks is not inferior to 73.8 Gy in 41 fractions over 8.2 weeks, although an increase in late GI/genitourinary adverse events was observed in patients treated with H-RT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation pneumonitis and early circulatory cytokine markers
Yuhchyau Chen,Jacqueline P. Williams,Ivan Ding,Eric Hernady,Weimin Liu,T. Smudzin,Jacob N. Finkelstein,Philip Rubin,Paul Okunieff +8 more
TL;DR: Analysis of a panel of circulating cytokines with different putative functions in radiation pulmonary injury identified IL-1alpha and IL-6 as early circulating cytokine markers for radiation pneumonitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term Results of RTOG 0236: A Phase II Trial of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) in the Treatment of Patients with Medically Inoperable Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
R.D. Timmerman,Chen Hu,J.M. Michalski,William L. Straube,James M. Galvin,David W. Johnstone,Jeffrey D. Bradley,R.B. Barriger,Andrea Bezjak,Gregory M.M. Videtic,Lucien A. Nedzi,Maria Werner-Wasik,Yuhchyau Chen,R.U. Komaki,Hak Choy +14 more
TL;DR: This validated model demonstrates that operability, tumor diameter, PTV size, BED10 and age form the basis of a new risk stratification for OS in stage I NSCLC patients treated with SABR that may help define subgroups for future clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Palifermin Reduces Severe Mucositis in Definitive Chemoradiotherapy of Locally Advanced Head and Neck Cancer: A Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study
Quynh-Thu Le,Harold Kim,Charles J. Schneider,Györgyi Muraközy,Krzysztof Składowski,Sabine Reinisch,Yuhchyau Chen,Michael Hickey,May Mo,Mon Gy Chen,Dietmar Berger,Richard Lizambri,Michael Henke +12 more
TL;DR: Although palifermin reduced severe functional OM, its role in the management of locally advanced HNC during chemoradiotherapy remains to be elucidated.
