Germline mutations in HRAS proto-oncogene cause Costello syndrome
Yoko Aoki,Tetsuya Niihori,Hiroshi Kawame,Kenji Kurosawa,Hirofumi Ohashi,Yukichi Tanaka,Mirella Filocamo,Kumi Kato,Yoichi Suzuki,Shigeo Kure,Yoichi Matsubara +10 more
TL;DR: Four heterozygous de novo mutations of HRAS are identified in 12 of 13 affected individuals, suggesting that germline mutations in HRAS perturb human development and increase susceptibility to tumors.
Journal Article
Frequent β-catenin mutation and cytoplasmic/nuclear accumulation in pancreatic solid-pseudopapillary neoplasm
Yukichi Tanaka,Keisuke Kato,Kenji Notohara,Hiroshi Hojo,Rieko Ijiri,Tetsumi Miyake,Noriyuki Nagahara,Fumiakai Sasaki,Norihiko Kitagawa,Yukio Nakatani,Yasutsugu Kobayashi +10 more
TL;DR: A significant role of Wnt signaling, mostly associated with beta-catenin mutations in the tumorigenesis of SPN is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deletions and epimutations affecting the human 14q32.2 imprinted region in individuals with paternal and maternal upd(14)-like phenotypes
Masayo Kagami,Yoichi Sekita,Gen Nishimura,Masahito Irie,Fumiko Kato,Michiyo Okada,Shunji Yamamori,Hiroshi Kishimoto,Masahiro Nakayama,Yukichi Tanaka,Kentarou Matsuoka,Tsutomu Takahashi,Mika Noguchi,Yoko Tanaka,Kouji Masumoto,Takeshi Utsunomiya,Hiroko Kouzan,Yumiko Komatsu,Hirofumi Ohashi,Kenji Kurosawa,Kenjirou Kosaki,Anne C. Ferguson-Smith,Fumitoshi Ishino,Tsutomu Ogata +23 more
TL;DR: The results imply that the IG-DMR has an important cis-acting regulatory function on the maternally inherited chromosome and that excessive RTL1 expression and decreased DLK1 and RTL 1 expression are relevant to upd( 14)pat-like and upd(14)mat-like phenotypes, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fusion of an ETS-family gene, EIAF, to EWS by t(17;22)(q12;q12) chromosome translocation in an undifferentiated sarcoma of infancy.
Yasuhiko Kaneko,Koichi Yoshida,Masafumi Handa,Yasunori Toyoda,Hirokazu Nishihira,Yukichi Tanaka,Yoshiroh Sasaki,Setsuko Ishida,Fumihiro Higashino,Kei Fujinaga +9 more
TL;DR: EIAF is a newly isolated ETS‐family gene that is located on 17q21 and codes for the adenovirus EIA enhancer‐binding protein that is found in an MIC2 antigen‐positive undifferentiated sarcoma of infancy and on Southern blot analysis, EWS and EIAF cDNA probes hybridized to the same rearranged band, indicating that an EWS‐EIAf fusion gene was formed in the tumor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk-stratified staging in paediatric hepatoblastoma: a unified analysis from the Children's Hepatic tumors International Collaboration
Rebecka L. Meyers,Rudolf Maibach,Eiso Hiyama,Beate Häberle,Mark Krailo,Arun Rangaswami,Daniel C. Aronson,Marcio H. Malogolowkin,Giorgio Perilongo,Dietrich von Schweinitz,Marc Ansari,Dolores Lopez-Terrada,Yukichi Tanaka,Rita Alaggio,Ivo Leuschner,Tomoro Hishiki,Irene Schmid,Kenichiro Watanabe,Kenichi Yoshimura,Yurong Feng,Eugenia Rinaldi,Davide Saraceno,Marisa Derosa,Piotr Czauderna +23 more
TL;DR: A unified global approach to risk stratification in children with hepatoblastoma is created on the basis of rigorous statistical interrogation of what is, to the best of the authors' knowledge, the largest dataset ever assembled for this rare paediatric tumour.
