Journal ArticleDOI
Deep high-temperature hydrothermal circulation in a detachment faulting system on the ultra-slow spreading ridge
Chunhui Tao,William E. Seyfried,R. P. Lowell,Yunlong Liu,Jin Liang,Zhikui Guo,Kang Ding,Huatian Zhang,Jia Liu,Qiu Lei,Igor Egorov,Shili Liao,Minghui Zhao,Jianping Zhou,Xianming Deng,Huaiming Li,Wang Hanchuang,Cai Wei,Guoyin Zhang,Zhou Hongwei,Jian Lin,Jian Lin,Wei Li +22 more
TL;DR: Geochemical and geophysical datasets are presented that suggest a hydrothermal system penetrating the upper lithospheric mantle at an ultra-slow spreading mid-oceanic ridge.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time correction of the ocean bottom seismometers deployed at the southwest Indian ridge using ambient noise cross-correlation
Yunlong Liu,Yunlong Liu,Cai Liu,Chunhui Tao,Chunhui Tao,Huajian Yao,Qiu Lei,Ao Wang,Ao Wang,Aiguo Ruan,Wang Hanchuang,Zhou Jianping,Huaiming Li,Chuanwan Dong,Chuanwan Dong +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors attempted to estimate clock drift between each station pairs using time symmetry analysis (TSA) based on ambient noise cross-correlation, which appeared to be optimal for the hydrophone data within the period band of 2-5 s in dozens of km-scale interstation distances.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seismic activity recorded by a single OBS/H near the active Longqi hydrothermal vent at the ultraslow spreading Southwest Indian Ridge (49°39′ E)
Yunlong Liu,Yunlong Liu,Chunhui Tao,Chunhui Tao,Cai Liu,Qiu Lei,Vera Schlindwein,Haijiang Zhang,You Tian,Wang Hanchuang +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of a pilot experiment of passive seismic monitoring near the active Longqi hydrothermal vent at the Southwest Indian Ridge during Chinese cruise DY115-30 were described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water enrichment in the mid-ocean ridge by recycling of mantle wedge residue
Jian Liu,Chunhui Tao,Jianping Zhou,Kenji Shimizu,Wei Li,Jin Liang,Shili Liao,Takeshi Kuritani,Etienne Deloule,Takayuki Ushikubo,Mitsuhiro Nakagawa,Weifang Yang,Guoyin Zhang,Yunlong Liu,Chuanwei Zhu,Hao Sun,Jingjun Zhou +16 more
TL;DR: In this article , fresh depleted basaltic glasses from the ultralow-spreading Southwestern Indian Ridge (SWIR), located far from any recent subduction zones, show unusually high H2O/Ce ratios (>600), water contents and heavy hydrogen isotopic compositions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seafloor classification based on deep-sea multibeam data—Application to the Southwest Indian Ridge at 50.47°E
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for deep-sea seafloor classification based on multibeam data is proposed, where bathymetry data are processed to obtain local slopes and backscattering strength (BS) data from depth datagrams are corrected by calculated incident angles and insonified areas on the seaflores.
