Journal ArticleDOI
A four-coordinate cobalt(II) single-ion magnet with coercivity and a very high energy barrier
Yvonne Rechkemmer,Frauke D. Breitgoff,Margarethe van der Meer,Mihail Atanasov,Mihail Atanasov,M. Hakl,Milan Orlita,Milan Orlita,Petr Neugebauer,Frank Neese,Biprajit Sarkar,Joris van Slageren +11 more
TL;DR: A mononuclear, tetrahedrally coordinated cobalt(II) single-molecule magnet has a very high effective energy barrier and displays pronounced magnetic bistability, which is shown to arise from a strong ligand field in combination with axial distortion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comprehensive Spectroscopic Determination of the Crystal Field Splitting in an Erbium Single-Ion Magnet.
Yvonne Rechkemmer,Julia E. Fischer,Raphael Marx,María Dörfel,Petr Neugebauer,Sebastian P. Horvath,Maren Gysler,Theis Brock-Nannestad,Wolfgang Frey,Michael F. Reid,Joris van Slageren +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that inclusion of methods sensitive to the nature of the lowest-energy states is essential to arrive at a correct description of the states that are most relevant for the static and dynamic magnetic properties of single-molecule magnets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multitechnique investigation of Dy3 – implications for coupled lanthanide clusters
Maren Gysler,Fadi El Hallak,Liviu Ungur,Raphael Marx,M. Hakl,Petr Neugebauer,Yvonne Rechkemmer,Yanhua Lan,Ilya Sheikin,Milan Orlita,Christopher E. Anson,Annie K. Powell,Roberta Sessoli,Liviu F. Chibotaru,Joris van Slageren +14 more
TL;DR: Torque magnetometry and far-infrared spectroscopy elucidate electronic structure and magnetic properties of Dy3 single molecule magnet.
Journal ArticleDOI
(Electro)catalytic C–C bond formation reaction with a redox-active cobalt complex
Margarethe van der Meer,Yvonne Rechkemmer,Irina Peremykin,Stephan Hohloch,Joris van Slageren,Biprajit Sarkar +5 more
TL;DR: Cooperativity between cobalt and non-innocent ligands in electron transfer processes has been utilized for (electro)catalytic C-C bond formation reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Redox-induced spin-state switching and mixed valency in quinonoid-bridged dicobalt complexes.
David Schweinfurth,Yvonne Rechkemmer,Stephan Hohloch,Naina Deibel,Irina Peremykin,Jan Fiedler,Raphael Marx,Petr Neugebauer,Joris van Slageren,Biprajit Sarkar +9 more
TL;DR: In contrast to 2(2+) , for 1(4+) the metal-ligand distances and the distances within the quinonoid ligand point to the existence of two low-spin Co(III) centers, thus showing the innocence of the quintessential non-innocent ligands L.
