Membrane biofouling control using polyvinylidene fluoride membrane blended with quaternary ammonium compound assembled on carbon material
TL;DR: In this article, a compatible carbon carrier was adopted to assemble the quaternary ammonium compound (QAC@Carbon) for enhancing its surface segregation of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) microfiltration membranes and simultaneously controlling QAC release, thereby improving the efficiency in mitigating biofouling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Boosting Cr(VI) detoxification and sequestration efficiency with carbon nanotube electrochemical filter functionalized with nanoscale polyaniline: Performance and mechanism.
Yanbiao Liu,Fuqiang Liu,Ning Ding,Chensi Shen,Fang Li,Liming Dong,Manhong Huang,Bo Yang,Zhiwei Wang,Wolfgang Sand,Wolfgang Sand +10 more
TL;DR: In an electric field, both Cr(VI) reduction kinetics and Cr(III) sorption capacity were enhanced as the flow rate and voltage increased, and the proposed continuous-flow PANI-CNT filter demonstrated an evidently enhanced kinetic process when compared to conventional batch system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of antifouling behaviours of modified PVDF membranes by TiO2 sols with different nanoparticle size: Implications of casting solution stability
TL;DR: In this article, the antifouling properties of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) MMMs were compared by two TiO 2 sols with different NPs size (one from hydrolysis and condensation with an average size of 5nm, and the other from dispersion of TiO2 nanoparticles with a particle size of 21nm).
Journal ArticleDOI
Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous CoCr2O4-supported Au–Pd alloy nanoparticles: Highly active catalysts for methane combustion
TL;DR: In this paper, the 3-dimensional ordered macroporous CoCr2O4 and its supported Au-Pd alloy (xAuPdy/3DOM CoCr 2O4; x = 0.98; Pd/Au molar ratio (y) = 1.93-1.96) were prepared using polymethyl methacrylate-templating and polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term operation of an MBR in the presence of zinc oxide nanoparticles reveals no significant adverse effects on its performance
TL;DR: The role of environmental nanoparticles in wastewater biological treatment has attracted considerable attention in recent years, while the long-term impacts of ENPs on membrane bioreactor (MBR) performance remain unclear.
