Journal ArticleDOI

ARID1B is a specific vulnerability in ARID1A-mutant cancers

TL;DR: It is found that loss of ARID1B in AR ID1A-deficient backgrounds destabilizes SWI/SNF and impairs proliferation in both cancer cells and primary cells, and is identified as a potential therapeutic target for ARID 1A-mutant cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI

ES cell pluripotency and germ-layer formation require the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling component BAF250a.

TL;DR: DNA microarray, immunostaining, and RNA analyses revealed that BAF250a-mediated chromatin remodeling contributes to the proper expression of numerous genes involved in ES cell self-renewal, including Sox2, Utf1, and Oct4, and the pluripotency defects in BAF 250a mutant ES cells appear to be cell lineage-specific.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lives of a heart cell: tracing the origins of cardiac progenitors.

TL;DR: This review highlights recent clarifications, revisions, and advances in the understanding of the many lives of a heart cell, with a primary focus on the emerging links between cardiogenesis and heart stem cell biology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polybromo protein BAF180 functions in mammalian cardiac chamber maturation

TL;DR: It is shown that the ablation of PBAF-specific subunit BAF180 in mouse embryos results in severe hypoplastic ventricle development and trophoblast placental defects, similar to those found in mice lacking RXRalpha and PPARgamma.
Journal ArticleDOI

BAF250B-associated SWI/SNF chromatin-remodeling complex is required to maintain undifferentiated mouse embryonic stem cells.

TL;DR: The work presented here underscores the importance of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes in pluripotent stem cells, and suggests that the BAF250B‐associated SWF is essential for mouse ES cells to maintain their normal proliferation and pluripotency.
