Landsat-Based Long-Term Monitoring of Total Suspended Matter Concentration Pattern Change in the Wet Season for Dongting Lake, China
TL;DR: An algorithm based on the near-infrared (NIR) band was developed and applied to Landsat images to derive TSM distribution maps from 1978 to 2013 in the wet season, revealing significant inter-annual and spatial variability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Remote sensing of diffuse attenuation coefficient patterns from Landsat 8 OLI imagery of turbid inland waters: A case study of Dongting Lake.
Zhubin Zheng,Jingli Ren,Yunmei Li,Yunmei Li,Chuangchun Huang,Chuangchun Huang,Ge Liu,Chenggong Du,Heng Lyu,Heng Lyu +9 more
TL;DR: The empirical band-ratio algorithm worked well, not only for the broader Landsat archives, but also for the narrower Sentinel-2/3 for Kd(490) estimation, which demonstrates that the algorithm could be used to quantitatively monitor multi-decade records of Landsat observations and future applications of inland water quality in turbid inland waters, such as Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake.
Journal ArticleDOI
Remote observation of water clarity patterns in Three Gorges Reservoir and Dongting Lake of China and their probable linkage to the Three Gorges Dam based on Landsat 8 imagery.
Jingli Ren,Jingli Ren,Zhubin Zheng,Zhubin Zheng,Yunmei Li,Yunmei Li,Guonian Lv,Guonian Lv,Qiao Wang,Heng Lyu,Heng Lyu,Changchun Huang,Changchun Huang,Ge Liu,Chenggong Du,Meng Mu,Shaohua Lei,Shun Bi +17 more
TL;DR: A new, robust remote-sensing algorithm is proposed to estimate ZSD from OLI imagery using red and green band-ratio, which demonstrates similar results to MODIS and could be suitable for other turbid lakes or reservoirs to formulate related strategies of water quality management in the middle and lower Yangtze River basin.
Journal ArticleDOI
An OLCI-based algorithm for semi-empirically partitioning absorption coefficient and estimating chlorophyll a concentration in various turbid case-2 waters
Ge Liu,Ge Liu,Lin Li,Kaishan Song,Yunmei Li,Heng Lyu,Zhidan Wen,Chong Fang,Shun Bi,Xiaoping Sun,Zongming Wang,Zhigang Cao,Yingxin Shang,Gongliang Yu,Zhubin Zheng,Changchun Huang,Yifan Xu,Kun Shi +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, an improved Quasi-Analytical Algorithm (QAA) was proposed for retrieving Chla concentrations from remote sensing reflectance (Rrs(λ)) which can be applied to Sentinel-3 Ocean and Land Colour Instrument (OLCI) images in turbid case-2 waters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimation of total phosphorus concentration using a water classification method in inland water
Chenggong Du,Chenggong Du,Qiao Wang,Yunmei Li,Yunmei Li,Heng Lyu,Heng Lyu,Li Zhu,Zhubin Zheng,Zhubin Zheng,Shuang Wen,Shuang Wen,Ge Liu,Yu-Long Guo +13 more
TL;DR: Improved the accuracy of TP inversion by combining the new classification algorithm with DRF, which is significant for the development of class-based water quality parameter inversion algorithms for water color remote sensing.
