Liquid-liquid phase separation in human health and diseases.

TL;DR: A review of liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) in eukaryotic cells can be found in this paper, where the authors describe the current understanding of LLPS and summarize its physiological functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Targeting liquid-liquid phase separation of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein promotes innate antiviral immunity by elevating MAVS activity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified that the dimerization domain of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (SARS2-NP) is required for SARS2NP to undergo liquid-liquid phase separation with RNA, which inhibits Lys63-linked poly-ubiquitination and aggregation of MAVS and thereby suppresses the innate antiviral immune response.
