TL;DR: A total of 15 species and 4 subspecies representing 4 genera have been recorded for the state of Florida and most species inhabit large portions of the state although some are limited to specific habitats, i.e. coastal or insular.
Abstract: The cicadas of Florida are determined, a key to the species is provided, synonymies listed, notes on the biology of each species and each species and its biogeography is illustrated. A total of 15 species and 4 subspecies representing 4 genera have been recorded for the state. Most species inhabit large portions of the state although some are limited to specific habitats, i.e. coastal or insular. Seven species are removed from the Florida cicada fauna.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared and contrasted the accounting education provided by Ukrainian universities with that given at American universities, and found that Ukrainian accounting students spend a significantly longer amount of time studying both accounting and other subjects during the course of their university attendance.
Abstract: This study compares and contrasts the accounting education provided by Ukrainian universities with that given at American universities. Two typical universities were chosen for comparison purposes, one Ukrainian and one American. Their curricula were compared and evaluated. Ukrainian accounting educators were also interviewed. The information gathered during the course of those interviews is also discussed. It was found that Ukrainian accounting students spend a significantly longer amount of time studying both accounting and other subjects during the course of their university attendance.

TL;DR: The authors tested the notion that expertise effects would be more noticeable when access to situational information was reduced by occluding or freezing the environment under temporal constraints and found that processing environmental information depends on temporal and contextual conditions.
Abstract: The authors tested the notion that expertise effects would be more noticeable when access to situational information was reduced by occluding (i.e., noncued) or freezing (i.e., cued) the environment under temporal constraints. Using an adaptation of tasks developed by Ward, Ericsson, and Williams, the participants viewed video clips of attacking soccer plays frozen or occluded at 3 temporal points and then generated and prioritized situational options and anticipated the outcome. The high-skill players anticipated the outcomes more accurately, generated fewer task-irrelevant options, and were better at prioritizing task-relevant options than their low-skill counterparts. The anticipation scores were significantly and positively correlated with the option prioritization and task-relevant options generated but not with the total options generated. Counter to the authors’ prediction, larger skill-based option-prioritization differences were observed when the play was frozen than when it was occluded. These results indicate that processing environmental information depends on temporal and contextual conditions.

TL;DR: The unexplored impact of traumatic instability on risk for recidivism and recommendations for trauma-informed policies and practices with individuals required to register as “sex offenders” are discussed.
Abstract: In recent years, there has been a rapid expansion of increasingly restrictive laws managing the post release behavior and movement of individuals convicted of sexual offenses. In the US, this legislation has led to many barriers for people returning to their community as "registered sex offenders." We consider the often ignored but undeniable traumagenic impact of life on "the list" and conceptualize this experience as Post-Conviction Traumatic Stress. We present a qualitative content analysis of secondary data collected from interviews with over 70 men. Emergent themes were first organized according to the human needs identified in Maslow's hierarchy, and then by the established symptoms of PTSD, and finally in terms of resilient coping versus traumatic coping when basic human needs were unmet. We discuss the unexplored impact of traumatic instability on risk for recidivism and present recommendations for trauma-informed policies and practices with individuals required to register as "sex offenders."

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the applicability of the Action Space framework as a diagnostic instrument for identifying the sources of retrains that may hinder the implementation of a selected knowledge management strategy.
Abstract: Prior studies have identified two major approaches of managing organizational knowledge assets: Codification and Personalization. The decision regarding which of the two major knowledge management (KM) approaches to adopt for an organization is a function of the organization’s core business, the competence so required, technological complexity of the critical processes responsible for the value adding, and the organizational culture. The KM strategy chosen by the firm must support its business strategy. The adoption and the implementation of a selected approach is however not always a straight forward task. There can be restrains that hinder the adoption and implementation process. These retrains come from multiple sources: Complexity of the problem domain, an overwhelming technical professionalism that restricts participation of the non-technical employees, and an overly authoritarian organizational culture that does not encourage too much democracy among employees. In order for the selected KM strategy to be implemented successfully, such restrains will need to be identified and diffused. In this current paper, we discuss the applicability of the Action Space framework as a diagnostic instrument for identifying the sources of retrains that may hinder the implementation of a selected KM strategy.
