TL;DR: In this article, a network structure surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active substrate is fabricated by adding Ag sol dropwise on adhesive tape, which shows great SERS enhancement ability and good uniformity by using p-aminothiophenol (PATP) as probe molecules.
Abstract: A network structure surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active substrate is fabricated by adding Ag sol dropwise on adhesive tape. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) is employed to characterize the structure of the as-prepared substrate. The substrate shows great SERS enhancement ability and good uniformity by using p-aminothiophenol (PATP) as probe molecules. The detection of crystal violet (CV) in aqueous solution is demonstrated, and the detection limit is as low as 10−12 M with the aid of the substrate. The results indicate that the proposed method is a potential approach for the fabrication of SERS substrates.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a novel nonequal-diameter radial diffuser, where the short baffles for the top diffuser and bottom diffuser are above and below, respectively.
Abstract: Owing to their simple structure, easy installation, low cost, and excellent thermal stratification, radial diffusers have been widely used in large-scale stratified thermal energy storage (TES) tanks. The current work proposes a novel nonequal-diameter radial diffuser. The short baffles for the top diffuser and bottom diffuser are above and below, respectively. On the one hand, the new diffuser design is beneficial to thermal stratification. On the other hand, it can reduce the cost of the radial diffuser. The thermal stratification and cost analysis of the proposed nonequal-diameter radial diffuser is performed based on the computational fluid dynamics. Moreover, the influence of the structural parameters on the diffuser performance is analyzed. The research results demonstrate that the nonequal-diameter radial diffuser has nearly the same thermal stratification performance as the equal-diameter radial diffuser and can significantly reduce the cost (37.5% when the diameter of the short baffle is 2/3 that of the long baffle). The thermal stratification performance of the stratified TES tank is optimized when the diameter ratio of the long baffle and the tank is 1/3, the diameter ratio of the short baffle and the long baffle is 1/3, and the distance between the two baffles is as small as possible. The research results are of considerable significance to the design, operation, and optimization of stratified TES tanks.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of flow velocity on the corrosion behavior of X100 steel in CO2-saturated produced water (CO2-SPW) was studied and the results showed that the corrosion current density increases and impedance value decreases with the increase of the flow rate.
Abstract: The effect of flow velocity on the corrosion behavior of X100 steel in CO2-saturated produced water (CO2-SPW) was studied. Potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to study the corrosion behavior of X100 steel. X-ray diffraction (XRD), a metallurgical microscope, and a scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to analyze corrosion product composition and morphology, respectively. The results show that the corrosion current density increases and impedance value decreases with the increase of the flow rate. The corrosion products are mainly FeCO3 and Fe3C. The corrosion degree of the bend segment is more serious than that of the straight segment. COMSOL simulation proposed the correlation between X100 corrosion behavior and material concentration and flow field distribution. A corrosion model was proposed, where the corrosion mechanism of X100 under simulated working condition was explained.
