TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the significant enhancement of low-field magnetization and magnetoresistance in La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 (LCMO) compounds with 5 at.% nano-MgO addition in the form of both nanoparticle and nanowire.
Abstract: We report the significant enhancement of low-field magnetization and magnetoresistance (MR) in La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 (LCMO) compounds with 5 at.% nano-MgO addition in the form of both nanoparticle and nanowire. It is found that the magnetization of the nano-MgO added compounds is highly sensitive to a low applied field below 7 kOe compared with the MgO-free LCMO. In addition, the enhancement of low-field MR is found in nano-MgO added compounds and the enhancement for the nanowire MgO-added composite is more remarkable than that for the nanoparticle MgO-added one. Moreover, two ferromagnetic phases with low-TC and high-TC in nano-MgO added compounds are observed. These results demonstrate that the low-field transport and magnetic properties of LCMO compounds can be effectively manipulated by controlling the morphology and dispersion of the insulating barrier using nano-MgO addition.

TL;DR: The results showed that senescence dramatically affected both exploratory behavior and HSP70 mRNA expression in rats' hippocampus, and suggested that chronic stress could lead to the habituational expression of HSP 70 mRNA, but high intensive stress could reverse the habitUational state and lead toThe dishabituational expression.
Abstract: Heat shock proteins are induced by stressful stimuli and have been shown to protect cells and organs from such stresses both in vitro and in vivo. This study examined the regulation of HSP70 mRNA expression and detected the effect of aging on RNA expression in hippocampus of rats. The stress models were built by using forced-swimming in 25 degrees C and 4 degrees C water, respectively. Two groups of male rats, 2-month-old and 16-month-old, respectively, were randomly divided into three subgroups: acute stress (AS) model, chronic habituation stress (CHS) model and chronic dishabituation stress (CDS) model. Observation of exploratory behavior in an open-field (OF) test indicated stress levels. The expression of HSP70 mRNA in hippocampus was measured by RT-PCR after 0, 30, 60, 180, and 360 min of stress, respectively. Results showed that the number of quadrant crossing in both aged CHS and young CHS groups decreased gradually with the process of stress, reflecting an adaptation to the stress condition. Repeated swimming in warm water resulted in habitual expression of HSP70 mRNA in both young and aged CHS group, indicating an adaptation to the stress. The RNA expression of young CHS group was significantly stronger than that of the aged CHS group at 30, 60, 180, and 360 min after stress (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, in an intensive stress level in which the rats swam in 4 degrees C water, a high expression level of HSP70 mRNA was achieved in CDS groups, producing a dishabituation that proved the habitual expression from the other side. These results showed that senescence dramatically affected both exploratory behavior and HSP70 mRNA expression in rats' hippocampus. The results also suggested that chronic stress could lead to the habituational expression of HSP70 mRNA, but high intensive stress could reverse the habituational state and lead to the dishabituational expression. Moreover, the duration of stimuli is one of the important factors that affect the level of HSP70 mRNA expression.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of complex topology of industrial networks on the diffusion of technical innovation is analyzed based on game theory, and the average steps of the technical innovation diffusion on industrial network are calculated based on the absorbing status of Markov chain.
Abstract: The value of innovation lies in it's diffusion, but the process of diffusion on network depend on the topological structure and rules of diffusion. The affections of complex topology of industrial network on the diffusion of technical innovation are studied. At the same time, the diffusing rules of technical innovation are analyzed based on game theory in the paper. Some conclusions are made out: the scale-free character of industrial network affects the threshold of diffusion; the small-world character affects the speed of diffusion; the Nash equilibrium shows that the diffusing probability of disseminator is proportional to the difference of studying cost and rejecting cost of studier, the studying probability of studier is not only proportional to the quarantine cost of disseminator, but also to the average degree of network. At last, the average steps of technical innovation diffusion on industrial network are showed based on the absorbing status of Markov chain.

TL;DR: In this paper, the internal pressure variations of different Nickel-metal hydride batteries were studied and the relationship between the deflection of a battery shell and internal pressure can be determined by thin elastic shell theory, and also by experimental methods.
Abstract: The internal pressure variations of different Nickel-metal hydride batteries were studied. The relationship between the deflection of a battery shell and internal pressure can be determined by thin elastic shell theory, and also by experimental methods. A DNY-2 was specially designed to measure indirectly the pressure inside the battery shell without damage to any battery parts. The internal pressure variations were simulated by the Boltzmann function when the batteries were charged with a low current density. The parameters in the simulating function have definite physical meanings, and a special parameter k, which is the variability of internal pressure with the charge state or the charge time of the battery in the region of inflexion of this simulation function can be used to estimate the cycle life of batteries. The result shows that batteries with a smaller k value have a longer cycle life.
