TL;DR: This chapter presents the most common cyber-attacks that affect networks based on the concepts of the software defined network (SDN), the content delivery network (CDN) and the information-centric network (ICN).
Abstract: Disaster-based resilience issues can severely interrupt communication in networks, making their functions unavailable. Such interruptions may include hardware-/software- related failures or malicious attacks. Especially, the latter is becoming more and more visible with higher intensity and more massive scale. In order to prevent it, new technology concepts and new mitigation strategies are needed. In this chapter, we present the most common cyber-attacks that affect networks based on the concepts of the software defined network (SDN), the content delivery network (CDN) and the information-centric network (ICN). We then indicate solutions to these problems. Finally, we discuss the future opportunities of how the communication networks can be updated to decrease the topological vulnerability to attacks.

TL;DR: In this article, the alphabets of WSNs in a straight scenario, categorizing them in terms of application, routing and connectivity schemes, besides, practical design challenges and energy supply ways have been classified.
Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks, basically applied to gather information about the environments, consist of various elements interconnection. They are mainly deployed in the areas hard to reach, so they are routinely powered by the batteries. Due to the complexity of WSNs and the impact they have on the 21st century proceeding technology, they have received lots of attention during past decades, hence it is mandatory to study their fundamentals before any forthcoming research. This paper reviews the alphabets of WSNs in a straight scenario, categorizing them in terms of application, routing and connectivity schemes, besides, practical design challenges and energy supply ways have been classified.

TL;DR: Formal surveys should be conducted by scientific societies, funding agencies, and academic institutions to properly assess the causes of nonreimbursed expenses and determine how this barrier to participation in science can be minimized.
Abstract: Socio-economic barriers to participation in science are harmful to the enterprise. One barrier is the phenomenon of scientists paying for expenses related to the conduct of research that are not re...

TL;DR: Dossey's theory of integral nursing is examined in relation to its major theoretical source, Wilber’s integral theory, and Dossey's integral approach is compared with another integral approach used by other scholars of integral theory.
Abstract: The purpose of this article is to examine Dossey's theory of integral nursing in relation to its major theoretical source, Wilber's integral theory. Although several nursing scholars have written about integral theory in relation to nursing scholarship and practice, Dossey's theory of integral nursing may be influencing how nurses take up integral theory in a significant way due to an extensive outreach in the holistic nursing community. Despite this wide circulation, the theory of integral nursing has yet to be reviewed in the nursing literature. This article (a) compares Dossey's theory of integral nursing with Wilber's integral theory and (b) contrasts Dossey's integral approach with another integral approach used by other scholars of integral theory.
