TL;DR: In this article, a simple formula is given for the perturbation of the anomalistic period of a highly eccentric orbit due to the zonal harmonics, which depends essentially only on the semi-major axisa, the eccentricitye (or pericentre radius rπ =a(1-e)) and the latitude β of the percentre.
Abstract: In this note a simple formula is given for the perturbation of the anomalistic period of a highly eccentric orbit due to the zonal harmonics. This perturbation depends essentially only on the semi-major axisa, the eccentricitye (or pericentre radius rπ =a(1-e)) and the latitude β of the pericentre.

TL;DR: In this article, the Giotto spacecraft was reactivated via the omnidirectional low-gain antenna mounted atop the spacecraft for a mission to the Comet Grigg-Skjellerup.
Abstract: In February 1990, ESA began reactivation of the Giotto spacecraft, which had been dormant for the previous four years, via the omnidirectional low-gain antenna mounted atop the Giotto. By the end of April 1990, spacecraft temperatures had been reduced to levels at which the experiments could be activated; of the original complement of ten experiment modules, the magnetometer, energetic particle analyzer, and optical probe experiment were fully functional, and an additional three instruments were partly damaged but usable. A mission that targetted Comet Grigg-Skjellerup 214 million km from the earth was then put into effect.

TL;DR: In this article, two techniques for increasing the accuracy of the numerical integration of eccentric orbits in Cartesian coordinates are discussed, one involves the use of an independent variable different from time, and the other uses a time element, which reduces the in-track error.

TL;DR: The problem of space debris is growing as mentioned in this paper, and even tiny fragments of debris can cause significant damage to satellites, and the Space Shuttle has had to swerve several times to avoid colliding with old spacecraft.
Abstract: The problem of space debris is growing. More than 3800 rockets have been launched since Sputnik on 4 October 1957, and many of these have left their remains in orbit around the Earth. These useless pieces of old spacecrafts, which include about 2000 defunct satellites, now pose an ever increasing threat to operational missions. The Space Shuttle has had to swerve several times to avoid colliding with old spacecraft, and even tiny fragments of debris can cause significant damage to satellites.
