TL;DR: The observation of a three-dimensional up-and-down movement of an actin filament sliding on heavy mero-myosin (HMM) molecules in an in vitro motility assay suggests that the interactions between myosin molecules and theActin filament may temporally be modulated during its sliding movement.
Abstract: We observed a three-dimensional up-and-down movement of an actin filament sliding on heavy mero-myosin (HMM) molecules in an in vitro motility assay. The up-and-down movement occurred along the direction perpendicular to the planar glass plane on which the filament demonstrated a sliding movement. The height length of the up-and-down movement was measured by monitoring the extent of diminishing fluorescent emission from the marker attached to the filament in the evanescent field of attenuation. The height lengths whose distribution exhibits a local maximum were found around the two values, 150 nm and 90 nm, separately. This undulating three-dimensional movement of an actin filament suggests that the interactions between myosin (HMM) molecules and the actin filament may temporally be modulated during its sliding movement.

14 Jun 2006TL;DR: While the psychological tests showed no significant changes in the subjects' state of mind, there were measurable improvements in online communication skill, typing skill and knowledge, with the largest increases experienced by the subjects with least Internet experience.
Abstract: We believe that Internet and computing technology have reached the stage where online games can offer an experience that is qualitatively different to what has gone before. To test how exposure to modern games could be of benefit to players, we recruited 12 subjects to play the MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) "Nobunaga no Yabou Online", collecting data over two months. We evaluated subjects before and after playing, using psychological tests and tests of communication skill, typing skill and knowledge of the Internet and of online games. While the psychological tests showed no significant changes in the subjects' state of mind, there were measurable improvements in online communication skill, typing skill and knowledge, with the largest increases experienced by the subjects with least Internet experience.

10 Sep 2020TL;DR: The visualization of lifelog based on the amount of social and physical activities for well-being enables users to aware their social, physical, and moderate activities for behavioral change aiming a comfortable how to spend life for individuals.
Abstract: This paper presents the visualization of lifelog based on the amount of social and physical activities for well-being. The motivation is that enables users to aware their social, physical, and moderate activities for behavioral change aiming a comfortable how to spend life for individuals. In this paper, three experiments were conducted to examine the feasibility of measuring and visualizing daily activities. We classified the one student's various daily activities to see the tendency of activity levels and classes. Also, we examined individual differences of three people in the same spatiotemporal space. Finally, we examined how the one student's activity changes of half-day can be visualized.
