TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the antecedents of entrepreneurial intention in perspective of theory of planned behaviour and empirically tested the model, structural equation modelling technique was used with the help of SmartPLS software version 3.
Abstract: One of the most concerning issue being faced by the under developed countries i.e. Pakistan, is how to create job opportunities for their young lads. In Pakistan, innumerable of youngsters are graduating from the universities annually, with few corresponding job of opportunities which is causing social vice in form of violence and crimes.Entrepreneurship can play an effective role in generating employment opportunities in the country which in turn help in reducing unemployment rate, alleviating poverty and improving livelihood. Thus, it has become a tinted area of for the researcher to study antecedents of entrepreneurial intentions. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the antecedents of entrepreneurial intention in perspective of theory of planned behaviour. For doing so, a deductive approach of logic was adopted and data were collected from 250 students with the help of structured questionnaire. To empirically test the model, structural equation modelling technique was used with the help of SmartPLS software version 3.The findings supported all the hypothesized associations. This study contributed to practice and knowledge domain by endorsing the incorporation of Self efficacy and perceived risks into TPB model. JEL Codes: L26, M10.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the main causes of budget overrun in building projects in Malaysia through a questionnaire survey of 83 contractors, 57 clients, and 40 owners, and established a list of mitigation measures for each of the top ten significant causes.
Abstract: Completion of a construction within planned budget is one of the main criterion of project success, however budget overrun has become a recurring phenomenon in construction industry. Budget overrun can cause multiple negative effects such as loos of economy, disputes among construction stakeholders, project abandonment, and drop in construction activities. This study aims to identify causes of budget overrun in Malaysian Building projects and then to establish mitigation measures for the identified main causes. Literature review, questionnaire survey and interviews were used in this study. Detailed literature review results in identification of 28 causes of budget overrun. The main causes of budget overrun in building projects in Malaysia were investigated through a questionnaire survey of 83 contractors, 57 clients, and 40 owners. The feedback of questionnaire survey was analyzed statistically. The significant causes of budget overrun were: improper planning, variation in materials price, poor site management, lack of communication between parties, frequent design changes, incompetent contractors, mistakes during construction, shortage of site workers, delay in material procurement, and low speed of decisions making. After questionnaire survey, interviews with 16 construction exports were carried out in order to develop mitigation measures for the top ten significant causes. On the basis of interviews, a list of mitigation measures for each of the top ten significant causes were established. The findings of this study can be useful for construction practitioners in controlling budget overrun and to achieve project success.

Abstract: This study intends to explore the current trends in the field of distance education research catalogued in Web of Science (WoS) database during 1980-2016. Mainly bibliographic description and social network analysis was employed to investigate the structure and patterns of information exchanged within the field of distance education research and also to interpret the interrelationship between keywords indicated in these articles. A total of 500 most cited articles (out of 6,141 relevant to the topic) were reviewed to examine the impact of factors such as journal DOI and keywords on the number of citations that they received. We also identified major trends in distance education literature including variation across publication and citation year, top ranking of institutions and top ranking of published papers based on authors, subject area and co-authorship collaboration between countries. Our results show that the most cited articles are from two institutions of United States and United Kingdom and the most prolific years in terms of number of published articles and citations are 2013.We also found non-significant and very small correlation between the number of citation and DOI number of the journals. Our study serves as a resource for future studies by indicating how trends in distance education research have gradually developed over time and demonstrating the characteristics of the most cited articles in this literature.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors pointed out that the success of a project is defined by accomplishing it within specified cost, time, and quality, and that a project otherwise completed may not be regarded as a successful endeavor until and unless it satisfies the cost limitations applied to it.
Abstract: The construction industry is truly the engine of national economy through which the total of physical development is achieved. The construction industry is a vital element of the economy and has a significant effect on the efficiency and productivity of other industry sectors. One cannot think of widespread investment in manufacturing, agriculture, or service sectors unless the construction results of infrastructure facilities are in place. In some of the developing countries, the growth rate of construction activity outstrips that of population and of GDP (Chitkara, 2004). Cost, time, and quality are used to measure the project performance and success. Generally, the success of a project is defined by accomplishing it within specified cost, time and quality. However, the construction industry is full of projects that are completed with significant time and cost overruns (Amhel et al.,2010). According to Faridi et al. (2006) delays have an adverse impact on project success in terms of time, cost, quality and safety. The effects of construction delays are not confined to the construction industry only, but influence the overall economy of a country. Construction industry is a very important industry in a country’s development and it can increase or generate economic development of the country. A study showed that since seventies, the economic in Malaysia has undergone rapid growth. It found that construction industry constitutes an important element of Malaysian Economy However, majority of the construction are facing problem in achieving the completion of project within stipulated time and cost. In other words, time and cost overrun is a common issue that frequently happens in the construction project worldwide generally, time overruns happen when a task within a project is not completed by the time the project plan specifies. Meanwhile, cost overrun occurs when the expenses required to complete a project exceed the amount budgeted. Since seventies, the economics of Malaysia has undergone rapid growth. Construction industry constitutes an important element of Malaysian economy. It shows how important to control and manage the projects in good quality and efficiently. There are four fundamental constraints needed to be considered when managing the construction projects, which are scope, cost, time, and quality. In order to manage the projects successfully, it is necessary to consider whether the project is within those four constraints. Cost has its proven importance as the prime factor for project success. Most of the significant factors affecting project costs are qualitative such as client priority on construction time, contractor’s planning capability, procurement methods and market conditions including the level of construction activity (Elchaig et al, 2005). A project otherwise completed may not be regarded as a successful endeavor until and unless it satisfies the cost limitations applied to it. Cost is among the major considerations throughout the project management life cycle and can be regarded as one of the most important parameters of a project and the driving force of project success. Despite its proven importance it is not uncommon to see a construction project failing to achieve its objectives within the specified cost. Cost overrun is a very frequent phenomenon and is almost associated with nearly all projects in the construction industry. This trend is more severe in developing countries where these overruns sometimes exceed 100% of the anticipated cost of the project. The construction industry is large, complex, volatile, risky, and requires tremendous capital outlays and tight money. It provides a bigger challenge to maintain its scheduled time, budgetary cost, and appropriate quality (Shaikh et al., 2010). A major criticism facing the construction industry is the growing rate of cost overrun and delays in project delivery. Enshassi et al. (2003, 2008) explain that the increasing complexity of construction projects and the environment within which they are constructed place greater demands on construction managers to deliver projects on time, within budget and with high quality. On-time completion and conformity with assigned cost of every project are the most important factors in the success of project plans. However, completing construction projects on time and within budget has been a major problem (Flyvbjerg et al., 2003; Sanders and Eagles, 2001). Construction delay and cost overrun occurs all over the world and many studies have been carried out to assess the causes of cost and time overruns in construction projects. For example, in Malaysia construction industry is highly dynamic sector and plays very important role in the development of country and hence in Malaysia, construction industry started a rapid growth since its independence. However, construction industry in Malaysia is facing chronic problems including poor performance of time and cost, construction waste, poor productivity and over dependent of foreign workers. Of these challenges, poor time and cost performance is considered as a critical issue. As reported by only 46.8% of public sector and 37.2% of private sector projects were found completed within the stipulated budget in Malaysia while only 20.5% of the public projects 33.35% of the private sector projects were completed within the time

TL;DR: The experimental results demonstrated that the fuzzy discretization method provided the best measurements for the correlation model, and was able to help the researchers in developing effective early warning systems in the future.
Abstract: The use of Bayesian Networks in the domain of disaster management has proven its efficiency in developing the disaster model and has been widely used to represent the logical relationships between variables.Prior to modelling the correlation between the flood factors, it was necessary to discretize the continuous data due to the weakness of the Bayesian Network to handle such variables. Therefore, this paper aimed to propose a data discretization technique and compare the existing discretization techniques to produce a spatial correlation model. In particular, the main contribution of this paper was to propose a fuzzy discretization method for the Bayesian-based flood model. The performance of the model is based on precision, recall, F-measure, and the receiver operating characteristic area. The experimental results demonstrated that the fuzzy discretization method provided the best measurements for the correlation model. Consequently, the proposed fuzzy discretization technique facilitated the data input for the flood model and was able to help the researchers in developing effective early warning systems in the future. In addition, the results of correlation were prominent in disaster management to provide reference that may help the government, planners, and decision-makers to perform actions and mitigate flood events.

Abstract: The selection of an effective advertising campaign is remarkably essential for organizations to get consumers’ attention where diverse conventional mediums were already operational over the past decades (i.e., outdoor media advertising). However, the trend has been transformed toward revolutionary means of marketing communications owing to widespread penetration of the technology. Therefore, electronic marketing is a challenging and growing trend to attain consumers’ attention using internet in the present era. The core aim of this chapter is to investigate the significance of e-marketing (eM) and outdoor media advertising on consumer buying behavior within the electronic products of Pakistan. It is empirically revealed that e-marketing and outdoor advertising are factors of exploratory consumer buying behavior. In comparison, electronic marketing may have a higher positive influence than outdoor media advertising in the current digital age to reach a particular market. This chapter proposes several managerial implications and future studies for academics and practitioners. The Comparison Between Traditional vs. Advanced Means of Marketing Communications
