TL;DR: The notion of a family "constitution" requiring adults to provide attention for their elderly parents carries over from a world where identical individuals reproduce asexually, to one where individuals differentiated by sex and preferences marry, have children and bargain over the allocation of domestic resources as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: We demonstrate that the notion of a family ‘constitution’ (self-enforcing, renegotiation-proof norm) requiring adults to provide attention for their elderly parents carries over from a world where identical individuals reproduce asexually, to one where individuals differentiated by sex and preferences marry, have children and bargain over the allocation of domestic resources. In this heterogenous world, couples are sorted by their preferences. If a couple’s common preferences satisfy a certain condition, the couple have an interest in instilling those preferences into their children. Policies are generally nonneutral. In particular, wage redistribution may raise, and compulsory education will reduce, the share of the adult population that is governed by family constitutions, and thus the share of the elderly population who receive attention from their children.

TL;DR: The paper proposes an integration test bed system for supply chain management, which forms the foundation for the construction of a valued manufacturing chain using a hierarchical simulation system to support production management in supply chain.
Abstract: The paper proposes an integration test bed system for supply chain management, which forms the foundation for the construction of a valued manufacturing chain. The core system of the test bed is a hierarchical simulation system to support production management in supply chain. The test bed possesses sub components linked with the simulation system. These are: 1) an enterprise integration model which represents business and information process in supply chain, 2) the communication data interface between the simulation and the supplier's companies, 3) the decision support system based on statistical methods. The paper describes the details of the system architecture and system configuration. After the detailed description, the authors discuss simulation integration methodologies through an application example.

TL;DR: In this paper, the economic damage caused by the radioactive contamination from the plant using a hedonic approach was estimated, which showed that an increase of 1μSv∕h decreases the land price by 3.39% on average in Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures.
Abstract: The Great East Japan Earthquake, which occurred on March 11, 2011, triggered the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. This study estimates the economic damage caused by the radioactive contamination from the plant using a hedonic approach. Our estimation results show that an increase of 1μSv∕h decreases the land price by 3.39% on average in Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures. Specifically, damage due to the radiation effect is estimated to cost approximately 64.1 billion yen in Fukushima. In addition, our result shows that commercial and business areas are more sensitive than residential areas to the radiation quantity.
