TL;DR: Analysis of the effects of alendronate on the subchondral bone quality and cartilage degeneration in the early phase of experimental model of osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament transaction indicated that ALN plays an important role in cartilage protection in OA joints that is associated with the improvement ofSubchondrals bone quality through reduction of subchONDral bone resorption.
Abstract: To evaluate the effects of alendronate (ALN) on the subchondral bone quality and cartilage degeneration in the early phase of experimental model of osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament transaction (ACLT). Thirty male adult healthy Japanese white rabbits after right ACLT or sham operation were divided into three groups (n = 10 per group): Sham; ACLT + ALN [after ACLT, the rabbits were treated with ALN daily starting from 4 days after surgery (10 μg/kg/d subcutaneously)]; and ACLT + NS group (after ACLT, the rabbits were injected saline as a placebo). At 60 days postsurgery, specimens from the affected knees were harvested. Histological analysis (HE and Safranin-O staining) as well as Mankin score were carried out to assess the cartilage degradation. BMP-2 and MMP-13 immunohistochemistry were also performed to demonstrate the alterations of cartilage molecular metabolism. Subchondral bone quality was evaluated by bone mineral density (BMD) and microstructure histomorphometry assay. For bone mineral density evaluation, 1/4 distal femurs, medial and lateral regions of femoral condylus were scanned with dual X-ray absorptiometry to assess the subchondral bone mass. Giemsa, von Kossa stain, and fluorescence technique for undecalcified bone section were carried out to examine the morphometry of the subchondral trabecular bone and subchondral plate. Histological and Mankin score analyses displayed that ALN treatment markedly reduced cartilage lesions and delayed the cartilage degeneration in OA joints. Immunohistochemistry assay further indicated that this cartilage-protective role of ALN was associated with elevating BMP-2 while inhibiting MMP-13 expression. BMD assessment demonstrated that ALN treatment significantly suppressed subchondral bone resorption. The results from histomorphometry assay of subchondral bone revealed that ALN treatment markedly increased the percent trabecular area (BV/TV), trabecular thickness (Tb.Th), and trabecular number (Tb.N). Moreover, both thickness and the porosity of the subchondral plate in ACLT + ALN group presented significantly higher than that in ACLT + NS group, while no significant difference was found between ACLT + ALN and Sham group. ALN plays an important role in cartilage protection in OA joints that is associated with the improvement of subchondral bone quality through reduction of subchondral bone resorption. ALN could be potentially used as a disease-modifying strategy to limit the progression of OA.

TL;DR: Findings suggest changes of COX, caspase-9, and casp enzyme-3 in the amygdala of SPS rats, which may play important roles in the pathogenesis of PTSD.
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to provide a novel insight into the mechanism of how amygdala might participate in PTSD by investigating the changes of cytochrome c oxidase (COX), caspase-9, and caspase-3 in the amygdala of single-prolonged stress (SPS) rats. A total of 80 healthy, male Wistar rats were selected for this study. The models of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were created by SPS, which is an established animal model for PTSD. The change of COX was detected by light microscope and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The expression of caspase-9 and caspase-3 in the basolateral amygdala was examined by immunofluorescence and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). SPS exposure resulted in a significant change of COX in the SPS model groups compared with the normal control group. Evaluation by enzymohistochemistry indicated translocation of COX from mitochondria to cytoplasm. The expression of both caspase-9 and caspase-3 significantly increased 1 day after SPS stimulation, then gradually increased and peaked at SPS 7d. This findings suggest changes of COX, caspase-9, and caspase-3 in the amygdala of SPS rats, which may play important roles in the pathogenesis of PTSD.

TL;DR: The data suggest that EZH2 is involved in the tumourigenesis of bladder cancer and EZh2 downregulation contributes to inhibiting malignant growth by retarding cell entrance to S phase.
Abstract: The Enhancer of Zeste homologue2 gene (EZH2) is frequently expressed at high levels in malignant tumours, including bladder cancer. It functions as a transcriptional regulator to the maintenance of cell identity, cell cycle regulation and oncogenesis. In the study, we detected EZH2 expression in bladder cancer tissues. These results showed EZH2 high expression in bladder cancer tissue at level of transcript and protein compared with normal bladder tissue and EZH2 expression correlated positively with tumour stage and grade. Then, we used RNA interference to inhibit EZH2 expression in bladder cancer EJ cell line. Efficient downregulation of EZH2 resulted in significantly decreased cell proliferation in EJ cells and retarded transition of G(1) phase to S phase. Our data suggest that EZH2 is involved in the tumourigenesis of bladder cancer and EZH2 downregulation contributes to inhibiting malignant growth by retarding cell entrance to S phase.

TL;DR: This review surveys current evidence concerning the crosstalk that occurs in tumor/stromal interactions, including genetic change, vascular niche, hypoxia, and dormancy of tumors, to help provide the basis for developing more effective therapeutic drug targets.
Abstract: Tumor-initiating cells (TICs) with stem-like cell properties initiate and sustain progressive growth, resulting in a heterogeneous tumor mass. The survival and growth of tumors rely on the development of a vasculature to provide nutrients and oxygen. Crosstalk between TICs and vascularization may be one of the central players in the initiation, long-term maintenance, and progression of tumors. This review surveys current evidence concerning the crosstalk that occurs in tumor/stromal interactions, including genetic change, vascular niche, hypoxia, and dormancy of tumors. A better understanding of this crosstalk might help provide the basis for developing more effective therapeutic drug targets.

TL;DR: TFBFL had a significant protective effect on renal damage in T2DM rats, and may be due to lowering blood glucose and diminishing renal damage by inhibiting PTP1B expression.
Abstract: Clinical data showed consumption of buckwheat played a very positive role in the relief of diabetes and its complications. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects and mechanisms of the overall flavonoids from buckwheat flowers and leaves (TFBFL) on renal damage in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rats. Seventy male Wistar rats were selected. Ten rats were randomly allocated into a normal group and the other sixty were intragastrically injected with a lipid emulsion and small doses of alloxan to induce the T2DM model. T2DM inducement was judged by the fasting blood glucose (FBG) and oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Those whose FBG was ≥ 16.7 mmol/L and less tolerant to glucose were considered as being T2DM rats. These rats were then randomly divided into a groups termed: model (purified water, 5 mL.kg(-1) . d(-1)), BNPL (positive control) (Benazepril, 4 mg.kg(-1) . d(-1)), L-TFBFL (TFBFL 100 mg.kg(-1) . d(-1)), M-TFBFL (TBFL 200 mg.kg(-1) . d(-1)) and H-TFBFL (TFBFL 400 mg.kg(-1) . d(-1)). Each group then received medication for a period of 4 weeks. The normal rats were treated with purified water in a synchronous manner. Subsequently, FBG, plasma insulin (INS), OGTT, 24 h urinary protein output, blood and urinary creatinine content were assayed. Then the insulin sensitive index (ISI), bilateral kidney index, and creatinine clearance rate (Ccr) were calculated. Renal morphological changes and expression of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) in the kidneys were observed. TFBFL lowered FBG, improved insulin resistance, caused Ccr, and renal morphological changes, down-regulated the expression of PTP1B in T2DM rats and showed dose-dependence. TFBFL had a significant protective effect on renal damage in T2DM rats. This effect may be due to lowering blood glucose and diminishing renal damage by inhibiting PTP1B expression.

TL;DR: The results showed that RHL inhibits Hela cell growth through the activation of p38 MAPK and JNK, and is a potential chemotherapeutic agent for cervical cancer.
Abstract: In previous studies, we found that rhein lysinate (RHL; the salt of rhein and lysine, easily dissolved in water) inhibited the growth of tumor cells in breast and ovarian cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma. This study aimed to investigate the effect of RHL on the growth of human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells and any underlying mechanisms. RHL inhibited the growth of HeLa cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. It was also noted that RHL induced apoptosis in HeLa cells in a dose-dependent manner. Mechanistically, RHL triggered HeLa cell apoptosis by increasing the levels of cleaved poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) and caspase-3/7. In addition, the activation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) was a critical mediator in RHL-induced growth inhibition. Inhibition of the expression of p38 MAPK and JNK by pharmacological inhibitors reversed RHL-induced growth inhibition by decreasing the level of cleaved PARP and caspase-3/7. Phosphorylation of the extracellular signal-related kinase (ERK) was increased by RHL; conversely, the MEK inhibitor which inhibits ERK activity, synergistically enhanced RHL-induced growth inhibition in HeLa cells. The results showed that RHL inhibits Hela cell growth through the activation of p38 MAPK and JNK, and is a potential chemotherapeutic agent for cervical cancer.

TL;DR: Support Vector Machine (SVM) of the kernel-based learning method has a higher adaptability and precision to forecast enterprise bankruptcy than the statistics method, and the bankruptcy forecasting accuracies of the three methods are compared.
Abstract: The enterprise bankruptcy forecasting is vital to manage credit risk, which can be solved through classifying method. There are three typical classifying methods to forecast enterprise bankruptcy: the statistics method, the Artificial Neural Network method and the kernel-based learning method. The paper introduces the first two methods briefly, and then introduces Support Vector Machine (SVM) of the kernel-based learning method, and lastly compares the bankruptcy forecasting accuracies of the three methods by building the corresponding models with the data of China's stock exchange data. From the positive analysis, we can draw a conclusion that the SVM method has a higher adaptability and precision to forecast enterprise bankruptcy.

TL;DR: Results indicate that LDM can reduce the capability for self-renewal that mouse EC cells possess through the repression of ES cell-like genes, thereby inhibiting carcinoma cell growth and suggests that L DM might have potential for application in CSC-based therapy and be a useful tool for studying ES cell pluripotency and differentiation.
Abstract: Lidamycin (LDM, also known as C-1027) as an anti-cancer agent inhibits growth in a variety of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. In this study we demonstrated that inhibition of mouse embryonic carcinoma (EC) cell growth using LDM at low concentrations can be attributed to a loss of the cell’s self-renewal capability but not to apoptosis or cell death, which can be correlated to the down-regulation of embryonic stem (ES) cell-like genes Oct4, Sox2 and c-Myc. MTT assays showed that LDM inhibited the growth of mouse P19 EC cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner. The EC cells exposed to a low dose (0.01 nM) of LDM lost their capability to generate colonies, as evidenced by the colony forming assay. Flow cytometer analyses demonstrated that LDM induced G1 arrest in exposed EC cells without apoptosis. Real-time qPCR, Western blotting and immunocytochemistry revealed that Oct4, Sox2 and c-Myc were down-regulated in LDM-exposed EC cells, but not adriamycin (ADM)-exposed cells. Furthermore, a combination of the low dose of LDM and ADM significantly reduced the proliferation of the cancer cells than single-agent treatment. This suggested that synergy of ADM and LDM improved chemotherapy. Taking together, our results indicate that LDM can reduce the capability for self-renewal that mouse EC cells possess through the repression of ES cell-like genes, thereby inhibiting carcinoma cell growth. This data also suggests that LDM might have potential for application in CSC-based therapy and be a useful tool for studying ES cell pluripotency and differentiation.

TL;DR: Graft copolymer nanoparticles prepared from chitosan and methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer were synthesized in aqueous solution by using potassium diperiodatocuprate [Cu(III)] as an initiator and characterized in terms of particle size, zeta potential, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal stability, and X-ray diffraction spectrometry as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Graft copolymer nanoparticles prepared from chitosan (CS) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer were synthesized in aqueous solution by using potassium diperiodatocuprate [Cu(III)] as an initiator and characterized in terms of particle size, zeta potential, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal stability, and X-ray diffraction spectrometry. The results indicated that CS was covalently linked to poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and the resulting copolymers formed nanoparticles. These nanoparticles [prepared at 35°C, in a weight ratio of MMA/CS of 5 : 1 and with a Cu(III) concentration of 1.5 × 10−3 mol/L] were 54–350 nm in size, with a mean hydrodynamic diameter of 183 ± 3 nm and were highly uniform in particle-size distribution, with a rather spherical shape and an obvious positive charge surface. The effect of reaction conditions such as Cu(III) concentration, reaction temperature, and the weight ratio of MMA/CS on the mean particle size was also investigated. Insulin-loaded nanoparticles were prepared, and their maximal association efficiency was up to 85.41%. The experiment of release in vitro showed that the nanoparticles gave an initial burst release followed by a slowly sustained one. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2011

TL;DR: It may be concluded that soluble TNF-α receptor upregulating or downregulating the expression of the related bioactivity mediators results in decreasing lung injury induced by silica.
Abstract: This study investigates cross-talk of the related bioactivity mediators in silica-induced pulmonary inflammatory and fibrosis on rats, which contributes to the preventive and therapeutic effect of soluble TNF-α receptor. Wistar rats received saline or 50 mg of quartz by intratracheal instillation. Rats in drug-treated groups were given soluble tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) receptor (500 μg) by hypodermic injection on days 1, 5 and 8 after operation. At 7 days or 14 days after instillation, rats were killed to observe the degree of injury and expression of the related bioactivity mediators including nuclear factor KB (NF-KB), nitric oxide, interleukin-1β, interleukin-10, transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1), TNF-α, interferon-Y (IFN-Y) and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). The area percentages of type I and III collagens in intervention group were lower than those in silica group. The expression of NF-κB, TGF-β1, and COL I were lower in intervention group than in silica group(p < 0.05) and GM-CSF was significantly higher (p < 0.05) at 7 days after instillation, however, NF-κB, TGF-β1, and COL I were identically lower in intervention group than in silica group, and TNF-α, IFN-γ, and GM-CSF were higher at 14 days after instillation. It may be concluded that soluble TNF-α receptor upregulating or downregulating the expression of the related bioactivity mediators results in decreasing lung injury induced by silica.

TL;DR: Results suggest that survivin is involved in regulating the meiotic cell cycle in rat oocytes, and microinjection of oocytes with anti-survivin antibodies at the beginning of the meiosis resulted in abnormal spindle assembly, chromosome segregation and first polar body emission.
Abstract: Survivin is a novel member of the inhibitor of apoptosis gene family that bear baculoviral IAP repeats (BIRs), whose physiological roles in regulating meiotic cell cycle need to be determined. Confocal microscopy was employed to observe the localization of survivin in rat oocytes. At the germinal vesicle (GV) stage, survivin was mainly concentrated in the GV. At the prometaphase I (pro-MI) and metaphase I (MI) stage, survivin was mainly localized at the kinetochores, with a light staining detected on the chromosomes. After transition to anaphase I or telophase I stage, survivin migrated to the midbody, and signals on the kinetochores and chromosomes disappeared. At metaphase II (MII) stage, survivin became mainly localized at the kinetochores again. Microinjection of oocytes with anti-survivin antibodies at the beginning of the meiosis, thus blocking the normal function of survivin, resulted in abnormal spindle assembly, chromosome segregation and first polar body emission. These results suggest that survivin is involved in regulating the meiotic cell cycle in rat oocytes.

TL;DR: In coal mine workers, alterations of lung function parameters are associated with the development of CWP and with changes in circulating MMP- 9, TIMP-9, IL-13 and IL-18R, which may likely reflect the pathogenesis and progression ofCWP in coal workers, and may provide for the importance of serum indicators in the early diagnosis of Lung function injury in coal miners.
Abstract: Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that alterations in certain circulating biomarkers may be correlated with Coal workers’ pneumoconiosis (CWP). This study investigated the relationship between changes of serum biomarkers and pulmonary function during the development of CWP. Methods: Lung function parameters and specific serum indices were measured in 69 non-smoking coal workers, including 34 miners with CWP, 24 asymptomatic miners and 11 miners with minimal symptoms. The associations between changes in pulmonary function and serum indices were tested with Pearson’s correlation coefficients. Multivariable analysis was used to estimate the predictive power of potential determinant variables for lung function. Results: Compared to healthy miners, lung function (FVC, FEV1, FEF50, FEF75, FEF25-75 % of predicted values) was decreased in miners with CWP (p < 0.05). Increased serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) was associated with decreased FVC% of predicted values in the asymptomatic miners (r = -0.503, p = 0.014). Conclusions: In coal mine workers, alterations of lung function parameters are associated with the development of CWP and with changes in circulating MMP-9, TIMP-9, IL-13 and IL-18R. These serum biomarkers may likely reflect the pathogenesis and progression of CWP in coal workers, and may provide for the importance of serum indicators in the early diagnosis of lung function injury in coal miners.

TL;DR: In this paper, BrdU-labeled marrow stem cells (MSCs) were transplanted into myocardium to observe their distribution and differentiation in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) rabbit models.
Abstract: In our study, BrdU-labeled marrow stem cells (MSCs) were directly (group 1), by the coronary artery (group 2), or by the ear vein (group 3) transplanted into myocardium to observe their distribution and differentiation in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) rabbit models. BrdU-positive cells, and BrdU and α-sarcomeric actin double positive cells were visible in the infarcted zones and its peripheral region. Cell processes between BrdU-positive cells and between BrdU-positive cells and host cardiomyocytes linked together. Transverse striation and sarcomere were seen. In above zones, new blood capillaries composed of Brdu-positive endothelial cells were present. Density of new blood capillaries was greater in group 1-3 than in control group (p < 0.05) and was the greatest in group 2. Hear function in group 1-3 was improved and was the best in group 2 (p < 0.05). In group 2 and 3, BrdU-positive cells were found in the lungs, liver, and kidneys. In group 3, BrdU-positive cells were greater in the lungs than in the liver and kidneys. We can see that MSCs transplanted by the three ways all can induce the regeneration of cardiomyocytes and blood capillaries. The order from good to poor effectiveness is group 2, group 1, and group 3.

TL;DR: Subcutaneous injection of simvastatin for 1 or 3 weeks can affect neither the expressions of bone formation relative factors of proximal tibia trabecular bone nor the osteogenic differentiation of the BMSCs.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE Simvastatin has been reported to be effective on stimulation of bone formation. To investigate the effects of simvastatin on bone formation relative factors of proximal tibia trabecular bone and on osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs). METHODS Fourty 1-week-old male Sprague Dawley rats were divided randomly into 2 groups, 20 rats per group. Rats in experimental group received subcutaneous injection of simvastatin [(5 mg/(kg x d)], and the rats in control group received injection of normal saline at the same dose. The expressions of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2), matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP-13), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) of trabecular bone were analyzed in the tibia by immunohistochemical staining at 1 and 3 weeks after injection. BMSCs from the rat femur at 1 and 3 weeks after injection were cultured under condition of osteogenic induction. ALP staining was performed on the 14th day after culture; real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR was used to detect the mRNA expressions of BMP-2, Runx2, Osterix, Msx2, Dlx3, and Dlx5 on the 21st day after culture; and von Kossa staining was performed on the 28th day after culture. RESULTS There was no significant difference in the expressions of BMP-2, MMP-13, and VEGF between the experimental group and control group at 1 and 3 weeks after injection (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in the percentages of ALP positively-stained cells between the experimental group and the control group on the 14th day after culture (P > 0.05). The mRNA expressions of BMP-2, Runx2, Osterix, Msx2, D1x3, and Dlx5 in osteogenic differentiation-induced BMSCs had also no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group at 1 and 3 weeks after culture (P > 0.05). No significant difference in biomineralization was found between the experimental group and control group at 1 and 3 weeks after culture (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION Subcutaneous injection of simvastatin [(5 mg/(kg x d)] for 1 or 3 weeks can affect neither the expressions of bone formation relative factors of proximal tibia trabecular bone nor the osteogenic differentiation of the BMSCs.

Abstract: Objective To investigate the feasibility of alendronate(ALN) in treating osteoarthritis(OA) by observing the effects of ALN on interleukin 1β(IL-1β) induced chondrocytes of rat in vitro. Methods The chondrocytes of knee articular surface from 15 SD rats(1-month-old,female or male, weighing 100-150 g) were cultured. The chondrocytes were observed by inverted phase contrast microscope and identified by toluidine blue staining and HE staining. The third passage chondrocytes were divided into 3 groups:the chondrocytes were cultured with DMEM for 5 days in group A,with 10 ng/mL IL-1β for 2 days and with DMEM for 3 days in group B,and with 10 ng/mL IL-1β for 2 days and with 1 × 10-6 mol/L ALN for 3 days in group C.Immunocytochemistry and real-time PCR were performed to determine the expression levels of collagen type II(Col II),matrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP-13),and β-catenin.Results Toluidine blue staining proved that the cultured cells were chondrocytes. The integrated absorbency(IA) value of Col II in group C(10.290 7± 0.499 2) was lower than that in group A(15.377 0± 0.571 8) and higher than that in group B(5.463 2± 0.450 4),showing significant differences(P 0.05).The IA value of MMP-13 in group C(3.068 6± 0.205 6) was significantly lower than that in group B(6.998 1± 0.329 7,P 0.05),but there was no significant differenc when compared with group A(2.777 5± 0.199 6,P 0.05).The IA value of β-catenin in group C(6.611 7± 0.381 8) was lower than that in group B(11.799 9± 0.348 7) and higher than that in group A(4.390 3± 0.551 9),showing significant differences(P 0.05).The mRNA expression of Col II in group C was significantly higher than those in groups A and B(P 0.05),the mRNA expression of MMP-13 in group C was significantly lower than that in group B(P 0.05) but there was no significant difference when compared with group A(P 0.05).The mRNA expression of β-catenin in group C was significantly lower than that in group B(P 0.05) and higher than that in group A(P 0.05).Conclusion ALN can protect rat chondrocyte from OA induced by IL-1β in vitro possibly by upregulating Col II and inhibiting the expression of MMP-13 and β-catenin in the chondrocytes.

TL;DR: AG genotype of padi4_94 is correlated with the RA in Han population of Hebei, and the A allele of pADI4 is related to the susceptibility of RA.
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms in peptidylarginine deiminase4(PADI4) with rheumatoid arthritis(RA) and anti cyclic citrullinated peptide(CCP) antibody in Han population of Hebei province. Methods 134 patients with RA and 140 with the healthy subjects were examined separately with polymerase chain reaction-ligase detection reaction(PCR-LDR).anti-CCP antibody serum titres were measured by the anti-CCP enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The genotype frequencies of the padi4_94 in RA group were statistically different from those in control subjects(P=0.035) so the A allele might be the susceptive gene of RA(P=0.037).For dichotomous analysis, there was significant difference between padi4_94 A alleles and padi4_94 G alleles(P=0.006),we observed more anti-CCP positive samples in the pooled padi4_94 A alleles and fewer positive samples in the padi4_94 G alleles. For continue analysis, there was significant difference in anti-CCP titres between A alleles and G alleles(P=0.023).Conclusions:AG genotype of padi4_94 is correlated with the RA in Han population of Hebei. The A allele of padi4-94 is related to the susceptibility of RA.There is correlation between padi4 A allele and serum anti-CCP antibody, either by continuous analysis using the titres or by dichotomous analysis using the diagnostic cut off.

TL;DR: Two groups of data are used to establish the BP neural network model separately and the comparison to the model fitting ability and the forecast performance is carried on, and it is discovered that the predictive ability is unable in the discrete data application to achieve anticipated ideally.
Abstract: Artificial neural network is based on human brain structure and operational mechanism based on knowledge and understanding of its structure and behavior of simulated an engineering system. BP artificial neural network is an important component of neural networks, as it can on the linear or nonlinear multivariable without preconditions in the case of statistical analysis, with the traditional statistical methods, analysis of the variables need to be consistent with certain conditions compared to its own advantage. The BP neural network does not need the precise mathematical model, does not have any supposition request to the material itself. Its processing non-linear problem's ability is stronger than traditional statistical methods. This article uses two groups of data to establish the BP neural network model separately, and carries on the comparison to the model fitting ability and the forecast performance, discovered BP neural network when data distribution relative centralism fits ability, forecasts the stable property. But the predictive ability is unable in the discrete data application to achieve anticipated ideally.

TL;DR: The combination of sandostatin and gardenia jasminoides ellis can protect pancreatic mitochondria injury in severe acute pancreatitis.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To study the protective effects of the combination of sandostatin(SS) and gardenia jasminoides ellis (GJE) on pancreatic mitochondria injury in severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) rats. METHODS SAP rat model was induced by retrograde injection of 15 g/L sodium deoxycholate into biliary tract. The rats were randomly divided into five groups: SAP group, Sham group, SS group, GJE group, as well as SS and GJE combination group. The changes of Superoxide dismutase(SOD), succinic dehydrogenase (SDH), Na+ -K+ -ATPase, Ca2+ - Mg2+ -ATPase, malondialdehyde (MDA), membrance fluidity of mitochondria in pancreatic tissue were measured. RESULTS Compared to Sham group, the activities of SOD, SDH, Na+ -K+ -ATPase and Ca2+ -Mg2+ -ATPase in mitochondria were obviously decreased in SAP group, and MDA and microviscosity (eta) were markedly increased (P < 0.01), which were associated with the increase of serum amylase level (P < 0.01). The above-mentioned indexes of GJE group, SS group and combination group were obviously ameliorated in comparison with SAP group (P < 0.01), the improvement in combination group was the best (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). The correlation analysis indicated that MDA was negatively correlated with SOD, membrance fluidity, as well as the activities of Na+ -K+ -ATPase and Ca2+ -Mg2- -ATPase (r = -0.857, P < 0.01; r = -0.960, P < 0.01; r = -0.966, P < 0.01; r = -0.926, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION The combination of sandostatin and gardenia jasminoides ellis can protect pancreatic mitochondria injury in severe acute pancreatitis.
