TL;DR: In this article, a mathematical model called Multi-objective Production System Design (MOPSD) model solved by Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), placed a production system under the constrained factory space to achieve the minimal total material transportation flow cost.
Abstract: This paper proposed a mathematical model called Multi-objective Production System Design (MOPSD) model solved by Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The MOPSD model placed a production system under the constrained factory space to achieve the minimal total material transportation flow cost. This paper discussed 2-phase pheromone layout procedure that we proposed how to transform the best design information into and the relationship and tracing technology. After modeling experiment we proved it can be put the best design information into 2-phase pheromone layout procedure and achieved the minimal total material transportation flow cost by simply tracing technology.

TL;DR: In this article, a two-period news-vendor setting is considered, where the item in the second period is a product extension of the product in the first period, and a shortage strategy toward the first item is intentionally made so as to stimulate more sales amounts of the second item.
Abstract: This study deals with a two-period newsvendor setting in which the item in the second period is a product extension of the item in the first period. A shortage strategy toward the first item is intentionally made so as to stimulate more sales amounts of the second item. The stochastic demand of these two items is assumed to be a linear-additive pattern comprising a deterministic demand and an error demand, where the deterministic demand consists of a primary demand and a consumer price elasticity, and the error demand is hypothesized to be exponentially distributed. The objective of this study is to optimize system's overall expected profit by jointly determining the optimal order quantities and selling prices of these two items. We first compare our proposed model with the classical newsvendor model in light of profit performances, and it reveals that a higher shifting demand rate makes our model a more profitable setting. Impact on profit performances caused by an increasing primary demand of the second item is then demonstrated by numerical examples that an unthought-of ripple effect of an increasing error demand of the second item also occurs.

TL;DR: The goal in this paper is to design not only a fast enough but also a high performance framework for the eye region detection and the eye state recognition.
Abstract: This paper proposes a framework to treat the eye information in a face image including the eye region detection and the eye state recognition. In order to make it possible to employ our approach to a real application in practice, our goal in this paper is to design not only a fast enough but also a high performance framework for the eye region detection and the eye state recognition. Our proposed framework mainly contains two parts: the first is to locate the eye regions in a face image, and the second is to recognize the states, either open or closed, of the eye regions. When a frame is captured from a video sequence, a face detection method is first performed to determine the positions of face regions. Next, face regions are converted into binary images and then we perform the horizontal and the vertical projections to locate the eye regions. Two visual features containing the intensity values of pixels and local binary pattern (LBP) are extracted from eye regions to classify the eye states with the support vector machine (SVM) approach. This paper also demonstrates a several experiments to present the efficiency and effectiveness of our proposed framework.

TL;DR: In this article, a pricing policy for reuse items that return with receiving an incentive subsidy was developed, where the probability of selling is assumed to be a decreasing function of price and availability; thus, not all units are sold.
Abstract: In this study, we develop a pricing policy for reuse items that return with receiving an incentive subsidy The probability of selling is assumed to be a decreasing function of price and availability; thus, not all units are sold Due to the complexity of the non-linear problem, the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions are applied to determine the optimal value of the return subsidy and the selling price A numerical example and sensitivity analysis on the optimal results are presented to validate the proposed model

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reveal that the covariance analysis results did not affect the learners own attitudes, cognitive load or emotions, however, in the t-tests for each of the different orientations, the research revealed that multimedia eBook teaching materials have a significant effect on the students' positive attitudes and cognitive loads, and positive emotions when compared with non-multimedia eBook materials.
Abstract: The research results reveal that the covariance analysis results did not affect the learners own attitudes, cognitive load or emotions. However, in the t-tests for each of the different orientations, the research revealed that multimedia eBook teaching materials have a significant effect on the students' positive attitudes, cognitive loads, and positive emotions when compared with non-multimedia eBook materials. The abovementioned results can be used as a reference for professors and teachers of related curriculum when conducting education on carbon reduction and energy-saving, and can help establish a method which can effectively increase the publics' understanding of carbon reduction and energy saving initiatives.
