TL;DR: Given that e-business is distinguished by different levels of supplier/customer information exchanges, the model envisages five digital and non digital interaction levels so that small business owners can better understand and evaluate the interplay of organization and technology in relation to business opportunities.
Abstract: E-business stage/maturity models for SMEs have been criticized for their predominantly technocentric and rather mechanistic character, not suited for this kind of firms. Based on a conceptual and qualitative research, the paper proposes an e-business development model to factor in the interaction sparked by the coming together of technology and organization. Given that e-business is distinguished by different levels of supplier/customer information exchanges, the model (tested in three small firms) envisages five digital and non digital interaction levels so that small business owners can better understand and evaluate the interplay of organization and technology in relation to business opportunities.

TL;DR: In this article, the analysis of different RAP materials through the RILEM cohesion test was conducted and the results showed that the actual cohesion test approach, based on the evaluation of the indirect tensile strength (ITS), is not able to distinguish between RAP binders with stiff-brittle behaviour or good residual binding properties.
Abstract: In the last years, RILEM Technical Committee 237-SIB proposed a new test protocol for reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) characterization, the cohesion test, with the goal to facilitate the identification of the most suitable solution for the recycling within new pavement layers. However, this procedure actually allows discriminating between different RAP sources but it does not exactly indicate the effective “activity” of the binder in the RAP. The present paper deals with the analysis of different RAP materials through the RILEM cohesion test. In particular, two “young” RAPs, different in composition and milled immediately after being laid, were aged in the laboratory and tested at different ageing levels. Moreover, an in-site aged RAP was tested as reference, either in neat conditions or after being sprayed with a rejuvenator. The results showed that the actual cohesion test approach, based on the evaluation of the indirect tensile strength (ITS), is not able to distinguish between RAP binders with stiff-brittle behaviour or good residual binding properties (despite the first is an unwanted condition while the second is a desired condition, both of them determine an increase in ITS). Differently, the Cracking Tolerance Index ( $${\rm{CT}}_{\rm{Index}}$$ ) defined by ASTM D8225-19 can emphasize the RAP bitumen ductility and highlight any residual binding and adhesive properties. For this reason, a RILEM cohesion test improvement is proposed by including the $${\rm{CT}}_{\rm{Index}}$$ calculation in the analysis.

TL;DR: It was concluded that the 3-week treatment was insufficient to reach the application level of the falling techniques, and differences were found for both groups between the falling performance in the posttest and the application test.
Abstract: The main aim of this investigation was to determine the effect of high contextual interference (HCI) and low contextual interference (LCI) on motor learning of falling techniques. Thirty-five kinesiology students (21 males and 14 females; mean ± SD, age = 19.4 ± 0.69 years) were randomly assigned to the HCI or LCI practice group. The participants' task was to learn two judo falling techniques on both sides over 3 weeks. The two-way analysis of variance found no difference between LCI and HCI in the performance at the pretest, posttest, retention, and transfer. Both groups improved posttest and retention performance. Finally, differences were found for both groups between the falling performance in the posttest and the application test (except for the right yoko ukemi fall in the HCI). Lower application test scores led to the conclusion that the 3-week treatment was insufficient to reach the application level of the falling techniques.

TL;DR: In this paper, the feasibility of friction stir welding to join thin sandwich components made of two steel outer layers and an internal polymeric layer was assessed, and both a pin and a pinless tool were used to weld the upper and lower surface of the joint in order to obtain solid state bonding of the metal and fusion welding of the polymer at the same time.
