TL;DR: In this article, the main wear mechanisms operating during drilling of stacks with the DLC coated drill are chipping, edge rounding and abrasion, while wear is mainly affected by abrading with the nanocomposite TiAlN coated tool, even though adhesion of AA7075 particles on the rake surface also occurs.

TL;DR: In this article, the volumetric characteristics of cold recycled mixtures based on the traditional principles used for hot bituminous mixtures were investigated, in particular, the compactability and the influence of water content on a mixture containing 50% of reclaimed asphalt stabilized with 3% of emulsion and 2% of cement.
Abstract: Volumetric characteristics significantly influence the mechanical performance and the durability of bituminous mixtures. Indeed, they are important parameters to be considered in both mix design and quality control phases. Nowadays, among compaction methods, the gyratory compactor (GC) is worldwide used for bituminous mixtures. Even if there is not a universally accepted compaction procedure for cold recycling, numerous universities and road administration agencies have employed the GC especially for bituminous emulsion treated materials. However, the presence of recycled aggregate, cement, bituminous emulsion and water requires adapting the traditional volumetric parameters to these recycled materials. This paper describes the volumetric characteristics of cold recycled mixtures based on the traditional principles used for hot bituminous mixtures. In particular, the compactability and the influence of water content on a mixture containing 50 % of reclaimed asphalt stabilized with 3 % of emulsion and 2 % of cement were investigated. Moreover, closed and slotted moulds were used to study in depth the saturation process. Results showed that specimens compacted in a closed mould, at high water contents, have a bi-linear evolution of the voids content, which defines two compaction phases. In addition, laboratory compaction using a closed mould seems to simulate better the full-scale compaction procedure. Finally, the water content that allowed the saturation state to be reached at the end of the compaction process corresponded to the optimum water content of the mixture.

TL;DR: Motivational interviewing can be applicable in the treatment of overweight and obese children, but its efficacy cannot be proved given the lack of studies carried out on this specific sample.
Abstract: Obesity is one of today’s most diffused and severe public health problems worldwide. It affects both adults and children with critical physical, social and psychological consequences. The aim of this review is to appraise the studies that investigated the effects of motivational interviewing techniques in treating overweight and obese children. The electronic databases PubMed and PsychINFO were searched for articles meeting inclusion criteria. The review included studies based on the application of MI components and having the objective of changing BMI in overweight or obese children from age 2 to age 11. Six articles have been selected and included in this review. Three studies reported that MI had a statistically significant positive effect on BMI and on secondary obesity-related behaviour outcomes. MI can be applicable in the treatment of overweight and obese children, but its efficacy cannot be proved given the lack of studies carried out on this specific sample.

TL;DR: In this article, the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the infrared spectrum of thermal dust emission in clusters of galaxies was obtained by using a stacking approach for a sample of several hundred objects from the Planck cluster sample; this procedure averaged out fluctuations from the IR sky, allowing to reach a significant detection of the faint cluster contribution.
Abstract: Although infrared (IR) overall dust emission from clusters of galaxies has been statistically detected using data from the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS), it has not been possible to sample the spectral energy distribution (SED) of this emission over its peak, and thus to break the degeneracy between dust temperature and mass. By complementing the IRAS spectral coverage with Planck satellite data from 100 to 857 GHz, we provide new constraints on the IR spectrum of thermal dust emission in clusters of galaxies. We achieve this by using a stacking approach for a sample of several hundred objects from the Planck cluster sample; this procedure averages out fluctuations from the IR sky, allowing us to reach a significant detection of the faint cluster contribution. We also use the large frequency range probed by Planck, together with component-separation techniques, to remove the contamination from both cosmic microwave background anisotropies and the thermal Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect (tSZ) signal, which dominate below 353 GHz. By excluding dominant spurious signals or systematic effects, averaged detections are reported at frequencies between 353 and 5000 GHz. We confirm the presence of dust in clusters of galaxies at low and intermediate redshifts, yielding an SED with a shape similar to that of the Milky Way. Planck's beam does not allow us to investigate the detailed spatial distribution of this emission (e.g., whether it comes from intergalactic dust or simply the dust content of the cluster galaxies), but the radial distribution of the emission appears to follow that of the stacked SZ signal, and thus the extent of the clusters. The recovered SED allows us to constrain the dust mass responsible for the signal, as well as its temperature. We additionally explore the evolution of the IR emission as a function of cluster mass and redshift.
