TL;DR: This paper deals with application of model reference adaptive control scheme and the system performance is compared with Lyapunov rule and MIT rule and the results are compared for varying adaptation mechanism due to variation in adaptation gain.
Abstract: Adaptive control involves modifying the control law used by the controller to cope with the fact that the parameters of the system being controlled change drastically due to change in environmental conditions or change in system itself. This technique is based on the fundamental characteristic of adaptation of living organism. The adaptive control process is one that continuously and automatically measures the dynamic behavior of plant, compares it with the desired output and uses the difference to vary adjustable system parameters or to generate an actuating signal in such a way so that optimal performance can be maintained regardless of system changes. This paper deals with application of model reference adaptive control scheme and the system performance is compared with Lyapunov rule and MIT rule. The plant which is taken for the controlling purpose is the first order system for simplicity. The comparison is done for different values of adaptation gain between MIT rule and Lyapunov rule. Simulation is done in MATLAB and simulink and the results are compared for varying adaptation mechanism due to variation in adaptation gain.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of mixing bamboo fibres on mechanical and physical properties of epoxy resins have been investigated on 100 kN servo-hydraulic universal testing machine under displacement mode of control, digital Rockwell hardness testing machine and impact testing machine.
Abstract: In the present work experimental investigation has been carried out to study the effect of bamboo fibres at different weight percentages (20, 30 and 40) to modify epoxy resin. Tests are conducted on 100 kN servo-hydraulic universal testing machine under displacement mode of control, digital Rockwell hardness testing machine and impact testing machine. Modifying epoxy resin through bamboo fibres and improve mechanical properties is main focus of this study. Bamboo fibres at different wt% (20, 30 and 40) are filled in epoxy resin and the effects of mixing bamboo fibres on mechanical and physical properties are studied. On the basis of mechanical testing results it is found that 30 wt% of bamboo fibre mixed epoxy is giving optimum mechanical properties. The addition of bamboo fibres has improved tensile, flexural and impact properties of epoxy resin and increased water absorption of the material. On the basis of overall study the epoxy modified with 30% of bamboo fibre is found to be better than other combinations. Keywords: Bamboo fiber, MMC, CMC, PMC, BFGC, SIPN BJRP, BFRP

TL;DR: Wavelet based algorithm presented in this paper is compared with the AF2 algorithm/Pan-Tompkinsalgorithms for signal denoising and detection of QRS complexes meanwhile better results are obtained for ECG signals by the wave let based algorithm.
Abstract: In recent years, ECG signal plays an important role in the primary diagnosis, prognosis and survivalanalysis of heart diseases. Electrocardiography has had a profound influence on the practice of medicine. This paper deals with the detection of QRS complexes of ECG signals using derivativebased/Pan-Tompkins/wavelet transform based algorithms. The electrocardiogram signal contains animportant amount of information that can be exploited in different manners. The ECG signal allows for theanalysis of anatomic and physiologic aspects of the whole cardiac muscle. Different ECG signals fromMIT/BIH Arrhythmia data base are used to verify the various algorithms using MATLAB software.Wavelet based algorithm presented in this paper is compared with the AF2 algorithm/Pan-Tompkinsalgorithms for signal denoising and detection of QRS complexes meanwhile better results are obtained forECG signals by the wavelet based algorithm. In the wavelet based algorithm, the ECG signal has beendenoised by removing the corresponding wavelet coefficients at higher scales. Then QRS complexes aredetected and each complex is used to find the peaks of the individual waves like P and T, and also theirdeviations. TL;DR: A development of an intelligent traffic signal control (ITSC) system needed because present traffic light controllers are based on old microcontroller such as AT89C51 which has very less internal memory and no in-built ADC.
Abstract: A development of an intelligent traffic signal control (ITSC) system needed because present traffic light controllers are based on old microcontroller such as AT89C51 which has very less internal memory and no in-built ADC. These systems have limitation because they will use the predefined program that does not have the flexibility of modification on real time application. The present traffic system have fixed time interval for green and red signal which does not provide the flexibility to the system. The ITSC system consist of high-performance, low power AVR_32 microcontroller with 32kbytes of in-system programmable flash memory and in-built 8-channel, 10-bit ADC which is required to process the IR input from sensor network. The ITSC system will able to deal two basic problem of traditional traffic light system: i) Detection of traffic volume by using genetic algorithm. ii) Emergence vehicle detection such as ambulance, police etc by using wireless sensor network (IR) embedded at the signal intersection. Keywords: Traffic Volume Estimation, Genetic Algorithm, wireless sensor network, Vehicle detection, Intelligent Traffic Signal Controller, embedded system.
