TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the possibility of constructing some quasi-attractors for biosystems in multidimensional phase space and evaluated the properties of the bio-systems based on analysis of the parameters of these quasiattractor and using the three postulates of compartmental/cluster theory.
Abstract: We have identified five special properties of biological systems requiring development of new synergistic study methods. We consider the possibility of constructing some quasi-attractors for biosystems in multidimensional phase space and evaluate the properties of the biosystems based on analysis of the parameters of these quasiattractors and using the three postulates of compartmental/cluster theory. We give some biological examples.

TL;DR: A method of control of cutting parameters without direct measurement on a machine tool in the course of machining based on diagnostics of the tool and the workpiece is considered and may be used in real-time cutting control systems.
Abstract: A method of control of cutting parameters without direct measurement of these parameters on a machine tool in the course of machining based on diagnostics of the tool and the workpiece is considered. Implementation of the method is demonstrated in machining of gray cast iron. The method may be used, for example, in real-time cutting control systems.

TL;DR: The problem of building a quality assurance system for computerized integrated manufacturing in machine building and the concept of observation as applied to the dynamics of complex controlled systems can be used to define the scope of the measurement processes and their interrelations during the shaping of machined pieces.
Abstract: The problem of building a quality assurance system for computerized integrated manufacturing in machine building is discussed. Fundamental trends in this area require a new statement of the problem as one of information and measurement technology. The concept of observation as applied to the dynamics of complex controlled systems can be used to define the scope of the measurement processes and their interrelations during the shaping of machined pieces.

TL;DR: The current situation of uncertainty evaluation in the context of international norms and arrangements is outlined and an approach to evaluating measurement uncertainty based on the propagation of distributions using Monte Carlo simulation is recommended.
Abstract: The uncertainty associated with a value of some quantity is widely recognized throughout scientific disciplines as a quantitative measure of the reliability of that value. In addition, measurement uncertainty is increasingly seen as essential in quality assurance for industry. The Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) provides internationally agreed recommendations for the evaluation of uncertainties. This paper outlines the current situation of uncertainty evaluation in the context of international norms and arrangements. It describes the basic ideas and concepts that underlie the GUM and serves as a brief tutorial on methods for evaluating measurement uncertainty in a manner consistent with the GUM. It recommends an approach to evaluating measurement uncertainty based on the propagation of distributions using Monte Carlo simulation. An example is presented to illustrate Monte Carlo simulation.
