The methodology function of Cite Space mapping knowledge domains

Abstract: The concept of Mapping Knowledge Domains and the Cite Space( an information visualization tool) have been got a lot of attention quickly since they are introduced in domestic academia,the relevant literature spring up like mushroom in a variety of domestic academic journals in Information Science,Science of Science and Management. But we find the knowledge visualization tool is " abused" and " misused" seriously by reading more than 500 papers that applied Cite Space,which shows that academic circles are lack of sufficient understanding of the methodology function of Mapping Knowledge Domains. The paper explains the methodology function of Cite Space mapping from four following aspects,1) elucidate its core function,changing the way we see the world,from the design concept,2) elaborate on its theoretical function of interpretation and foresight to knowledge domain,3) clarify the realization of the methodology function from applied process,and 4) introduce its application function from newly technology extension. We expect Cite Space could better develop the function of methodology in detecting academic frontiers,choosing research directions,managing knowledge and making ST decision.

The rise of mapping knowledge domain

Abstract: Mapping knowledge domain is a kind of graph showing the relationship between evolution and structure for science knowledge. Its rise shows that ,one hand, the research direction for the scientometrics revealing the law of sciences knowledge and science activity is turning from mathematics expression to graph expression, on the other hand, the display for knowledge map is turning from geography distribution to knowledge structure relationship and evolution rule. Basing on the basic concepts of knowledge map, this paper introduce the lasted improvement in mapping knowledge domain on three aspects, which are Data basesdata formataccess, Data analysis algorithms,Visualizationinteractive design and scientometrics. Its Promising applications showing that mapping knowledge domain is an effective knowledge management tool to sciencetechnology research and enterprise technology innovation.

Abstract: Collaborative innovation is the process of knowledge-capital transformation.It is the innovation organization comprising enterprises,government,knowledge production Institutions,intermediaries and users,which goal is to achieve major scientific and technological innovation.The article described the process of collaborative innovation from the dimension of integration and intensity of interaction and discusses the theoretical framework of collaborative innovation.Finally,a few suggestions was made for building collaborative innovation organization and platforms.

Quantitative analysis for intellectual property protection level of China

Abstract: Based on Ginarte-Park method, this paper puts forward a modified method to evaluate the intellectual property protection (IPP) level of China, quantitative analysis shows that the modified IPP level is much below then the Ginarte-Park level, and thus explain the phenomena why China was listed in the Priority Watch List of Special 301 Act twice since 1991

The performance of Chinese regional innovation system evaluation based on data envelopment analysis

Abstract: The key task in regional economic development is utilizing the different advantages of each region in its growth and then improving the efficiency and effectiveness of regional innovative activities; therefore a demand of measuring RIS (regional innovation system) objectively is firstly emerged. In this paper, by using patents as the middle products, a two-stage model is used to describe the total procedure of innovative activities of Chinese regional innovation system. The first stage is to measure the technology efficiency and the second stage is to measure the economy efficiency, and the integral stage is the combination of the two stages. By means of C~2R model of DEA technology, we can evaluate the performance of each stage——technology, economy and integral stage. Based on the results of assessment, the regions can be classified into three ranks,and the innovative performances in different regions vary in different stages.
