4D multi-scale imaging of reactive flow in carbonates: Assessing the impact of heterogeneity on dissolution regimes using streamlines at multiple length scales

TLDR
In this article, the impact of heterogeneity on the dissolution of two limestones, characterised by distinct degrees of flow heterogeneity at both the pore and core scales, was experimentally investigated.

Upscaling the porosity-permeability relationship of a microporous carbonate for Darcy-scale flow with machine learning.

TL;DR: In this paper, a micro-CT image of Estaillades limestone was divided into small 603 and 1203 sub-volumes and permeability was computed using the Darcy-Brinkman-Stokes (DBS) model.

Partial dissolution of carbonate rock grains during reactive CO2-saturated brine injection under reservoir conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the dissolution behavior in wettability-altered carbonate rocks at the nm-to µm-scale was investigated using X-ray micro-tomography and focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM) techniques.

Influence of Transport and Reaction on Wormhole Formation in Porous Media

TL;DR: The Damkohler number is shown to dictate the type of wormhole structure formed by systems with various degrees of transport and reaction limitations, and results from a 2-D network model and a 3-D physically representative network model agree qualitatively with experimental results and substantiate the existence of an optimum Damk Kohler number.
