Estimating the Dynamic Characteristics of Road Vehicles Using Vibration Response Data

TL;DR: In this paper, the frequency response function (FRFrequency response function) of vehicles is used to predict the dynamic interaction between vehicles and potholes due to the random and nonstationary nature of pavements and the complicated dynamic characteristics of vehicles.

Reduced Mass-Weighted Proper Decomposition for Modal Analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a method of modal analysis by proper orthogonal decomposition for large-order systems of arbitrary mass distribution is outlined, which involves reduced-order modeling of the system mass distribution so that the discretized mass matrix dimension matches the number of sensed quantities, and hence the dimension of the response ensemble and correlation matrix.

Parameter Estimation in Complex Linear Structures

TL;DR: In this paper, a new parameter estimation method is presented which simultaneously computes element constitutive parameters and unmeasured displacements of finite element models from measured static responses, which is robust in a noisy environment, can deal with incompleteness of measurements and is amenable to grouping of elements with the same parameters.

Evaluation of Damping Using Frequency Domain Operational Modal Analysis Techniques

TL;DR: A comparison is made of the effectiveness of two existing OMA techniques in providing accurate damping estimates for random stationary loading, varying levels of signal noise, number of added measurement channels and level of structural damping.
