TLDR
In this article, a model of knowledge sharing motivation based on a combination of the theory of planned behavior and self-determination theory is presented, along with suggestions for future research and methodologies to study knowledgesharing behavior.
Abstract
In this article, I present a model of knowledge-sharing motivation based on a combination of the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and self-determination theory (SDT), along with a review of research supporting the model and suggestions for future research and methodologies to study knowledgesharing behavior. I also give suggestions for designing five important human resource management (HRM) practices, including staffing, job design, performance and compensation systems, managerial styles, and training. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Leadership in Organizational Knowledge Creation: A Review and Framework

TL;DR: The authors developed a new framework for situational leadership in organizational knowledge creation, which is based on a continuum that ranges from centralized to distributed leadership at three layers of activity: a core layer of local knowledge creation; a conditional layer that provides the resources and context for knowledge generation; and a structural layer that forms the overall frame and direction for knowledge creation in the organization.

The theory of planned behavior

TL;DR: Ajzen, 1985, 1987, this article reviewed the theory of planned behavior and some unresolved issues and concluded that the theory is well supported by empirical evidence and that intention to perform behaviors of different kinds can be predicted with high accuracy from attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control; and these intentions, together with perceptions of behavioral control, account for considerable variance in actual behavior.

The "What" and "Why" of Goal Pursuits: Human Needs and the Self-Determination of Behavior

TL;DR: Self-Determination Theory (SDT) as mentioned in this paper maintains that an understanding of human motivation requires a consideration of innate psychological needs for competence, autonomy, and relatedness, emphasizing that needs specify the necessary conditions for psychological growth, integrity, and well-being.
